Up for sale is a original numbers matching 1968 Mustang 289 V8 with a 3 speed automatic transmission. I bought this car with the intensions of restoring it but I have to many projects and not enough time to give this car the attention it deserves. The body work has been started but needs to be finished before its ready for paint. The engine has had new valve seals installed and runs like a champ with no noise,smoke,or leaks although it could use a little carb work. The original air cleaner and valve covers will be installed before pickup. The transmission shifts good and solid. The power steering belt was removed due to a leak underneath the car. It still worked fine but it needs the leak fixed unless you like adding fluid to it everyday. Or just leave it off and have manual steering. All the steel brake lines from front to rear have been replaced as well as 2 wheel cylinders and the other 2 have been rebuilt. The brake shoes are in good shape and the emergency brake works as well. The car has new air shocks on the rear and front shocks still feel good. Both of the universal joints in the driveshaft are new. The front floor pans have been replaced and back floors are still good. The trunk has also been patched. The frame rails have been patched with only minor work still needed but all in all pretty solid. I have all the front turn signals and backup lights that will be included. The interior is in pretty decent shape but not perfect. There is no carpet in the front but the carpet in the back is in pretty good shape. Seats are still all intact with only a few small splits in the drivers side front as seen in the pictures. Headliner is good except for a few small holes under the visors. All the metal interior parts have been painted black. All the guages work as well as the heater. The horn works and so do the turns signals and all the lights for that matter. I have the gas tank but its pretty rough looking inside. No holes but not sure if it can be cleaned out or not. It is currently running off of a jug under the hood. The rims are 15" in the rear and 14" in the front and will need tires. They still have decent tread just dry rotted from age. I also have the original steel rims and hubcaps if you would prefer but they will need tires as well. I have tried to inform you of all the issues that I am aware of. This is a project car but you could have it road worthy and cruising with very little work. If you dont have any feedback contact me before you bid or your bid will be removed. Sold as is where is.
