Vintage 1995 Honda Civic VX hatchback that continues to get exceptional gas mileage (51-58 mpg at 60 mph on the highway, though it goes much faster, and 38-43 mpg in the city during winter) after travelling 187,400 miles. This is one of the most efficient gasoline-powered cars ever manufactured, has been well maintained, runs clean, and has no mechanical issues other than a pilot shaft bearing that has started making a bit of noise and that may soon need replacement. I am selling this VX because my wife wants our secondary car to be one with an automatic transmission (ouch!). There must be a mechanically inclined individual or two out there who have been looking for one of these cars. I got this one via Craigslist in the early 2000s when the odometer had registered about 100,000 fewer miles, and would like to pass it along to someone looking for high gas mileage and the opportunity to maintain a classic that will outperform a Toyota Prius on the highway. On Oct-03-13 at 07:39:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Regarding the reliability of an older car with >187,000 miles on the odometer, this vehicle was driven on two long-distance trips this last (2013) summer with absolutely no difficulties experienced whatsoever. One trip was an ~1,950 mile round-trip from Shady Cove, Oregon, to Kemmerer, Wyoming. The other was a longer trip from Shady Cove through West Yellowstone, Montana, and back to Shady Cove The car got 55 mpg on one trip and 53 mpg on the other. The better gas mileage came during hotter weather, which really seems to bring the best out of the car. On Oct-05-13 at 17:53:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Depending upon who wins this auction and his or her geographic location, I would be willing, if desired, to deliver this car at my expense to a shipper who was hired by the buyer and prepared to take the car in either Medford, Oregon (along Interstate 5) or in Klamath Falls, Oregon (on highways 97 and 140). Any shipping costs from these locations would be the responsibility of the buyer. On Oct-07-13 at 15:10:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Pictures have been added (on 07 October in the PM, after cleaning the car) to respond to multiple redundant questions about rust, the car's exterior body condition, etc. The car is in quite good shape for an 18 year-old vehicle. The body does not have rust, and the rear quarter-panels are in good shape. The body has a few minor blemishes but could probably be made to look near-new with a limited amount of effort.
