Vehicle Detail
This 1967 classic Camaro hot rod is truly a shining star of the ‘Muscle Car Era’. It has been lovingly cared for by one owner over the last 25 years, and is reluctantly being put up for sale to help pay for college tuition and expenses. In 1989 the car was disassembled in a complete ‘frame off’ 8 year restoration. All parts were sand blasted, prepped and painted. The car was reassembled with an overhauled Muncie 4 speed, 12 bolt posi rear with new bearings, 390 gears and seals. All electrical harnesses were repaired or replaced. A new instrument panel and center console was fabricated for an inline Hurst shifter and all new Auto Meter pro comp gages and lights. It was painted black wrinkle coat finish. The restoration and paint was completed in 1997. The drive train is a 12 bolt posi 390 ratio rear with 25" BF Goodrich TA tires and Lakewood chrome ladder bars with frame connectors. It runs at 3500 rpm = 70MPH @ 10 miles to the gallon. Lakewood steel bell housing with drive shaft loop. The clutch was replaced in 2012 with a RAM diaphragm style for easier driving. The exhaust was replaced in 2012 and is 2 1/4" dual with power flow mufflers with a crossover tube. The engine was replaced in 2008 with a new 383 Chevy crate engine. 425hp+/440+torque. The engine has a steel crank with splayed 4 bolt mains, aluminum 202 heads, Pete Jackson gear drive, hooker headers with exhaust pipe wraps, Holly 750 double pumper tuned to the engine, grooved pulleys, electric fan, 4 row aluminum radiator, Holly high volume engine driven fuel pump with a duke electric pump, Light weight high torque starter MSD Unilte distributer with an MSD box. It has a pre-oiler for long storage periods. The battery is mounted in the trunk with a remote kill switch and works well with no issues. The car has many professionally hand made parts to accent the originality of the car as can be seen in the pictures. The car drives well and does not feel or sound like a noisy hot rod due to all of the insulation work that has been done. She drives smooth and easy but accelerates faster than a speeding police car. The car has 4900 miles on it since the restoration and the engine has 4000 miles on it since it has been installed in 2008. It has not been drag raced but has been loved.
