The Sale of Walter: 1984 Chevrolet Scottsdale, 16k original miles The truck listed as “Buy It Now” for $9,995. If you do purchase Walter at the Buy It Now price I will do the following: 1) I will throw in a GPS so you can find your way home if you decide to drive Walter to your home. 2) If you decide to ship Walter to your home, I will contribute $500 to the Shipping cost. This is a tough sell for me. The 1984 Chevrolet Scottsdale had become a friend named Walter. Walter might be called a survivor. I would call him a Thriver, as the pictures attest. The mileage just turned 16k a few weeks ago. Yes 16k, not 160k. I am the third owner. The truck was originally purchased from Chambers Chevrolet and Cadillac in Bellingham, Washington. A gentleman from Lynden, Washington was the first owner. Let’s call him Mr. V. If you know anything about Lynden you will know that the town is primarily Dutch, very well kept and inhabited by very meticulous people. I have the record book of the first owner. It lists the times Walter was filled up. The last entry was in 2005 with a mileage notation of 04921.6. Mr. V that traded Walter back to Chambers Chevrolet for the purchase of another truck. The General Manager of Chambers was involved in the deal. He immediately purchased Walter. Walter was in a garage for a couple of years waiting for the General Manager’s son to turn 16. At that time the truck was given to the son. The son drove Walter for about 1 year. Walter was then put back into the garage. The son chose an older Camaro over Walter. I do not understand why. The General Manager of Chambers is a friend of mine. He asked if I would be interested in giving Walter a home. Of course I said yes. When I brought Wally home the mileage read just over 12k.. He had just been serviced. Since then Wally been given a couple of upgrades, nothing silly, as I hope you will see. He had new fancy wheels and tires, which you see on the truck in the pictures. These tires are P275x60xR15 in the front and P255x60R15 in the back. This gives the truck a nice lower profile. If you prefer a taller profile, Walter has the answer. Mounted on original rims trimmed with beauty rings, both beautifully preserved, are 31x10.50xR15 Michelin radials. These give him a taller profile by about 2.5 inches. A spray in bed liner was added to keep the rust free and ding free bed rust free and ding free. A fiber glass truck bed cover was added to make the look sleeker, if Walter could ever be called sleek. A modern stereo had been added before I bought the truck. Other than the above Walter is stock. That is the story of Walter the Truck. The truck is not perfect, but close. There is a bit of the chrome peeling off the rear bumper (see the photo). There is some very minor garage rash – tiny scratches – from being inside his entire life. The interior looks new. The engine compartment has not been cleaned. I hope the picture does it justice. The paint is shinny and polishes out well. Here is how the truck is equipped. 350 V8, 3 Sp Automatic, dual exhaust, AC, PS, Cruise Control, Wing Windows (remember these), factory installed seat belts for three and saddle tanks. The gas tanks hold 15 gallons each. The truck is set up with a towing package. I have no idea what Mr. V ever towed with it. It could not have been much, nor could it have gone very far. So, Wally is hopefully going to a new home. I need to make room for a 2005 SSR and a Monster Miata. Good luck bidding. The winner will get a superb vehicle. A deposit of $1000 is required within 48 hours of the close of the bidder. I may be made via PayPal and/or a Certified or Casheir's check. The new owner is responsible for pick up and/or shipping. Full payment must be made within 5 days of the winning bid. Full payment maybe made via PayPal and/or a Cetrified or Cashier's check. Remember, I have the truck listed as “Buy It Now” for $9,995. If the truck is purchased at the "Buy It Now" price, I will do the following: 1) I will throw in a Garmin GPS so you can find your way home if you decide to drive Walter. 2) If you decide to ship Walter to your home I will contribute $500 to the Shipping cost.
