This car was built in England, exported to the United States and is a rare left-hand drive model. This vehicle features a side-valve 1172 cc 4-cylinder engine, coil independent front suspension, transverse leaf rear suspension and hydraulic brakes on 8in drums. When new the Prefect reported 33.1 miles per gallon, perfect for today’s fuel prices. The vehicle runs but has not been started since 2010 when the carburetor was removed for another Prefect the seller had. In order to be driven the car will need the carburetor replaced, brakes serviced in addition to typical maintenance for a car that has been sitting. This vehicle is solid and what we believe to be completely original. There are some spots of minor surface rust where the paint has deteriorated, but no major rust concerns or evidence of previous body damage. There is a dent in the rear bumper and the drivers side tail-light is broken. It is showing 53088 miles which is believed to be original and the vehicle has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse during its current ownership. The interior is in good condition and includes the lockable glove box and optional heater box. More than 100,000 Model 100E Prefects were made between 1953 and 1959 so parts availability from England is very good.
