Vehicle Detail

1961 International A-120 Metro This truck has a cool old patina or would make the perfect candidate for restoration. Out of the few of these I have owned over the years, this is by far the most solid and structurally sound one I have had or even have seen for original condition. There really is nothing but surface rust anywhere on this truck. It is very complete. All the doors align, slide and latch effortlessly. The area below both sliding doors is totally solid which for those that know Metros know is near impossible to find without rust through or prior repair. There are a couple minor dents here and there (all shown in the pictures) but those are very easily repaired. Couple bullet holes on the driver’s side The driver’s door glass is missing but the channel to mount it is still in the door. The rear barn door glass is also missing but it comes with a set of good rear window seals. It’s all flat glass and any glass shop can cut replacements. At some point somebody cut a few covered ventilation holes in the roof but could be easily patched should one decide to. I can see no signs of previous body repairs anywhere on the truck. I recently flushed and filled the radiator. I went through and installed a new coil, plugs and plug wires. The engine now turns over, fires up and idles nicely as seen in the video. The choke cable is frozen in place so I disconnected it to get it running. The exhaust system is shot and that is what you hear making the rattling noise in the video. Head lights, turn signals, dash lights and taillights all work. The brakes will need gone through before it is safely drivable. It rolls free and the e brake works. The front vanity license plate will stay with me. It has the 220 engine. 75,597 original miles. It is the 116” wheelbase version. I have the title for this in hand. These old milk trucks and step vans are becoming super rare, collectable and harder to come by these days. Usually when you find them they are completely rusted out or beat to heck. Vehicle is sold as is with no guarantee or warranty of any kind. This is a project that has been sitting for 25 years in dry storage. It will need work to get it road safe, but it’s solid, the engine turns over, it runs and all the important stuff is there. I have this vehicle listed outside of ebay as well. I may choose to end the auction early so bid now $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction’s end. Full payment balance is due within 7 days of auction end. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup and shipping arrangements.
