Vehicle Detail

1976 Mark IV, Rare Designer Edition, Low Miles, 460 V8, Cool 70's Cruiser Almost one of a kind! Only available in the second half of 1976, very few of these "Rose Elegance" models were produced. According to HowStuffWorks.com, "it's estimated that only 50-100 of these were built." I would imagine the ones with the "smoker's window" power vent option are even MORE rare. These are almost impossible to come by, you can read about them at this link: http://automotivemileposts.com/mark41976designerseries.html Options include power windows with power quarter window (located by the side view mirrors); the feature was called a "smoker's window", it goes down first then the main window lowers. It's actually quite rare on the Mark 4's, generally you only see them on the Mark 5's. Power locks, split bench 6-way power seats (they adjust independently with separate armrests as well), padded leather door panels, two tone leather, walnut finish dashboard, vinyl top, tilt wheel, AM/FM stereo 8-Track player, full size spare tire with extra aluminum turbine style mag wheel with lock and trunk release. Purchased from an older gentleman in Long Island, NY who rarely drove it and mostly just left it in his garage, he owned it since the mid-80's.Mechanical: New dual exhaust in 2010 from engine back, done right, everything welded and properly mounted, Lincoln has a nice, quiet "purr" to the engine. In last few years the car got a full tuneup, front end work, and new disc brakes. A/C retrofitted with R12 to R134a, blows nice and cold. New window motors installed, windows work smooth and quick now. The gas guage works intermittently, I will include a brand new sending unit for the gas tank as seen in the trunk pic. Cruise control and 8-Track player work intermittently as well. Sometimes the headlight doors don't close fully, the vacuum lines that control the headlight doors need to be checked. The 460 "Police Interceptor" V8 was an upgrade option that raised the horsepower from 202 to 226 hp as well as having some extra heavy duty parts, including an oil cooler and an extra transmission cooler. Air conditioning works great, quickly cools you off immediately after starting the car, even in 90 degree plus days. Cosmetic: The interior is as close to perfect as an unrestored, original car can be. The leather seats are supple and cushy, no rips or even worn spots anywhere. The door panels and rear panels and dashboard are in great shape, even the lighter compartments in the doors are clean with all working lighters, the mark appears to never have been smoked in. The dash and door lighters do not even show signs of ever being used. The carpet is plush and clean and the headliner and visors are perfect. The AM/FM and 8-Track player still work great, the power antenna goes up and down manually. The Cartier clock works perfectly, doesn't even lose time. The paint is original and still presentable but shows its age when you're up close. The bottom of the driver's front fender in front of the wheel looks to have been patched at some point, only visible up close. The vinyl top is in nice shape, no tears, cracks or fading, a couple of spots are separating where the vinyl top meets the chrome trim. The bumpers are nice and shiny. Loud air horn set lets other drivers know you're coming.Runs strong, shifts smooth and cruises easy at 75 down the highway with no wandering, shaking or vibration, she's a real Road Queen. The 75k on the odometer is the original mileage as far as I know, my mechanic does think it's genuine from the sound of the motor and overall condition. Exhaust is clean, car runs nice and quiet, no leaks or noises, garage floor always dry when I pull her out. The underside is clean, trunk, floors and frame all solid, appears have to been undercoated when new. The 460 V8 puts out loads of torque, can move this old girl up the highway easily while tracking straight and true. She runs great, starts easily, idles quiet, shifts smooth, and handles really well for a car of this size. Starts right up with a turn of the key even after sitting for weeks. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. I can recommend a good door to door shipper is you need one. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Lincoln is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well, I'm a motivated seller. An ultra-rare American luxury classic cruiser which will only appreciate in value. 914-224-3230 mark 4, mark 5, mark v, 1975, 1977, 1978, cadillac, coupe deville
