Up for auction is a 1946 GMC (General Motors Truck) 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck, hard to find. The truck was recently removed from storage where it has been sitting for over 20 years. The truck is currently on Non-op thru the state of California. I have a pink slip that will go with the truck. The truck is 96% complete. It retains the original 4 slot steel wheels and I also have the spare tire that will be included as well. The truck was originally painted dark green (Brewster green), which is still showing on the firewall. The pickup also has the original wiring, engine and transmission. The engine runs, but the third member will need to be changed out as it has been removed. Sometime over the past several years body work was begun, but never completed. Another third member (rear axle) and torque tube will be included with the auction. The body is in good condition considering its age. The fenders, doors, rockers, hood, running boards all appear to be solid. The truck will need metal finishing and body work if you choose to restore. Not sure if all the gauges work properly. The headlights look to be complete and the marker lenses are in fantastic shape. The 1946 GMC had a metal bed unlike the 1941 1942 1946 Chevrolet Pickups during that era. The bed will need work, and one of the rear stake pockets will need attention. All of the undercarriage appears to be in good condition, showing only signs of surface rust that can easily be removed. The grille assembly look nice, but will need some minor areas of impact removed. This is a fantastic restoration candidate or if you want roll with the way it sits or rat rod it.
