Vehicle Detail

Rare 1978 Lincoln Mark V Designer Series Pucci Edition With NO RESERVE Rare Emilio Pucci edition with Black Cayman Landau Vinyl Roof (snakeskin pattern) and "astro-roof" moonroof. 67k original miles, 460 V8. Options include four wheel disc brakes, power moonroof, quarter windows that lower and raise before main window, working 8-track with CB (handset still plugs in and works), tilt steering wheel, remote trunk release and automatic headlights, both dimming and automatically turning on when it gets dark. The Cartier clock and original AM/FM 8-Track stereo still work. I bought the Lincoln from an elderly gentleman in upstate New York about three years ago, he was the second owner and had it since the mid-80's. Here's a page describing the features of the 78 Pucci Edition, one of the more rare of the Designer Series: http://www.lincolnclub.eu/continental-mark-series/1977-1979-continental-mark-v/1978-continental-mark-v/pucci Mechanical: Over the last few years I've done basic maintenance including full tuneup, brakes, belts, hoses, and KYB shocks all around (the expensive pressurized ones in the rear). The most expensive mechanical work I've done is install a new Edelbrock timing gear set with roller chain and "re-curving" the ignition with a set from Edelbrock. The water pump was changed at the same time. These improvements are the first things to do to improve power and fuel efficiency for the "smog" motors of the late 70's Ford 460 V8. The improvement in horsepower was felt immediately when I picked up the car, suddenly it was fun to hit the gas! I had the a/c charged with R-12 when I first bought the car, a friend had a huge container of NOS freon. It worked for two summers but it must have leaked some over last winter, the compressor turns on but it's not as cold as it should be, just cool. Cosmetics: the interior is very nice, gray leather with burgundy accents. Both driver and passenger seat motors work properly in all directions as well as window motors and headlight doors. The moonroof works perfectly, doesn't leak even in heavy rain and has the sliding shade that can be closed as well. Both lower fenders behind the front wheels have been patched by the previous owner. The paint looks OK from 10 feet and still shines up well but she could really use a paint job. I was planning on painting the Lincoln a nice modern metallic shade of the same silver with the red stripe up the side redone. A local body shop quoted me $1800 for everything, including welding in new metal behind the front wheels (the spots aren't big). The chrome and trim are decent, obviously original but still look pretty good. The vinyl top is close to perfect, looks like new. The headlight doors start to open when the car is parked for a few days. I've got a whole set of extra body moldings, rear quarter windows and even a full rear window I will include. Engine starts easily, cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road effortlessly with no wandering. Runs very strong and brakes evenly with the four wheel disc brakes. She idles perfectly, shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. Drives overall like an American luxury coupe should. The Lincoln handles surprisingly well considering its size. All directional/brake/turn signal/headlights, wipers and cruise control work. The title is in my name, VIN is 8Y89A955213. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Lincoln is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. Rare classic Lincoln which will only appreciate in value!
