Vehicle Detail

1985 Honda Civic - "Wagovan" - 4WD - 6spd I love interesting cars, and hard to find cars in survivor status. This car is Ultra Rare, and you just do not see these for sale that often. Sure you can find the 3rd Generation Civics from 1984-87, actually they are getting hard to find as well. But this is a Low production, factory Wagovan or Shuttle Wagon, with the 4WD Option, with the optional 6spd Manual Transmission. The Transmission has SL-Super Low and then 1-5 gears that can be used in 2wd or 4wd, so you have a rear 6spd transmission, pretty amazing for the times. The SL option is hard to find, it gives the Civic 4WD super low torque at low speeds for climbing terrain. I do not know the complete history on this car, or how many they built, but I do know that they are very desirable and extremely hard to find in any condition, most people have no idea that these even exsisted. This is the car that most likely was what became the Honda CR-V. This car I believe has had 2 pervious owners from what I was told from the folks I got it from. The odometer was changed out around 2010, at that time it had around 160K miles on the car. The used odometer had 36K on it, the cars odometer today says 42,980. So I believe the correct Reading of the car would be around 165,000 miles on it from my best guess. Really doesn't matter to much, the car is 28 years old, and here in Oregon, they only record mileage on cars newer then 10 years old, so really the mileage is unknown. Anyways, this car runs fantastic, you can drive it anywhere, it starts right up and is just a joy to drive. I don't think I have ever enjoyed driving a little car like this, but this one just feels great, love the Panoramic View this Wagovan has. Yes, 4wd drive system does work good, and the SL gear is great. The car has never been wrecked, you can see a few dings and stuff on ol' Waggie, but this car has always been cared for. For a 1985, the body and interior on this 28 year old is in very good shape, absolutely NO RUST. You folks in the Rust belt, will be amazed. Here in Oregon we have cool summers and mild winters, and we do not salt the roads, here in the Northwest we have some of the cleanest original vintage cars. The body on the car is very good as I mentioned before. The Paint has faded and is past its prime, but for the most part it is still on the car. It could use a quick respray down the road, if I were to keep it, which I wouldn't mind, I would give her a quick repaint because it would be very easy and quick to do. The hood, and the top of the doors are the worse, the paint has flaked off, and the roof, they had repainted a while back. There are some minor dings on the car, you can see them in the pictures. The largest indention is on the passenger rear door and on the trim. The glass is all in excellent shape, no cracks, or chips, even has its original windshield still in it. The bumpers look excellent, and trim looks good. The Original Mudflaps are still on the car, the rear ones say 4WD, and the front ones say Honda. This cars exterior condition is not flawless, but it is in very good shape, absolutely No Rust, No Rust bubbles, very very clean, quick repaint if you wanted and you would have a very nice car. The interior, for a 1985, is in excellent shape. The seats have very little wear, mostly the drivers seat is were you would see the wear, the side vinyl on the drivers seat is wore, and the bottom cushion has some threads pulled, but other wise it is nice. Rest of the seats are in excellent shape. Carpet is original, but has some wear to it. The headliner, is original, but the finish is starting to see some deterioration to it. I love the rear side windows, how the warp up on top of the car, and there are 2 little windows looking up threw the roof. The rear seat does a split fold down, for more cargo space. This car for a Mini Car, has tons on room, Honda did a good job on the design of these cars. I love the dash on these cars, and the center vent that does pop up. This cars heater does work very good, the factory radio works well as well. No major options, it was born to drive. One of the options these cars had was that thought the rear seat does fold up to make the cargo area, the rear seat backs, will adjust for the passengers, more straight up, or recline back, pretty neat. The door panels are in very good shape, no rips. The dash pad is nice, but it does have a few chips or cracks in it, but nothing major. As I mentioned earlier, the only alterations, are that the Odometer was replaced a couple years ago, so really the miles are unknown on this wagon. Mechanically this Wagovan is in great running order. She starts right up, and purrs like a kitten. It does not blow any smoke or burn oil, very clean running car. The engine is the original 1.5 I4, 1500cc. It has still have all of its original stickers under the hood, and has its does have all its emissions, and labels like the Catalyst Stickers. The transmission shifts nicely, it is a 6spd transmission, the SL granny gear works good, clutch feels good as well. It does go in reverse, but you have to lift up on the clutch a little with your foot, and put it in at times but it always goes in. The 4WD, is push button, and it does work good, I have tried it many times, the SL gear works in 4wd, and 2wd, very handy. This car being a 4wd, has never been off road, pretty obvious by looking at it. The undercarriage, is in great shape, no rust issues, no damage. The tires are in okay shape, but you will want to change them down the road they are getting worn. It drives very good, does not have power steering but this car drives with ease. The brakes feel good, and the car drives straight down the road. This is a car, that I believe someone could fly in and drive home with ease. It does have its original Oregon Plates with the car, that have good tags, so this car has been used, and I will continue driving her around so I can save on fuel myself.
