Vehicle Detail
I bought this Cadillac two years ago with the intent of restoring it. Since then my house has become a priority and I have to part with this project. It had been stored inside since 2005 and the first phase of it's restoration. This Hearse is a rare three way, the body style having rear corner glass was produced as both an ambulance and a Hearse. The 390 engine and hydromatic transmission are original, all numbers match. The vehicle does not run at present. The gallery photo was taken before the restoration was started... This is a collectors project and would make a good investment of completed. The "three way" refers to the ability to load from the back of the vehicle or either side, because it had rear suicide doors. This model has suicide rear doors as well as the "Bubble Top" roof line.'According to "Superior The complete History " by Thomas McPherson, there were 1,293 built in 1960, this included : three-way 128 , end loader 221, combination 468, flower car 10, ambulance 150, pontiac funeral coach 47, pontiac combination 187, and pontiac ambulance 82.All parts are present excluding some badging and one piece of aluminum trim from the rear quarter. The table is not present. Otherwise all of the Crown Royale'/Hearse specific trim is here, Landau bars, Crown roof bands, interior ceiling band, interior panels/trim/electric bench seat. Door glass and rear curved corner glass are included and in good condition. The windshield is cracked. All interior panels are here, interior lights, trim, sconces and associated lighting. There is an extra dash (complete) and a spare set of heads as well. The roof, hood, and upper panels are straight and solid. Fenders and hood are in good condition with typical rust at the bottom corners. The vehicle is very straight over all, minus a few door dings. Both the body and frame show no signs of accidents. The inner and rear quarter panels will need sheet metal work as there is rust, floor pans are rusted through in the corners. The inside of the rear door will need the same type of repair. Front bumper is in great condition, the rear will need light bezels. The body has been framed with 1" square tube stock and spot welded in place in preparation for a frame off restoration. This Hearse is one of only 128 produced. I've put a fair and low reserve on the vehicle and hope that whoever wins it will finish the restoration that's been started. I can have this delivered in the U.S. for .55 cents a mile within a 100 mile radius, otherwise shipping will have to be arranged by the winning bidder. If you are an international bidder you will have to contact me prior to my acceptance of your bid... Please ask any and all questions before bidding, I'm happy to help as I can. The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. A $500 none refundable deposit is required within 72 hours of auction end. Thank you and good luck.
