1966 L79 Corvette Stingray Convertible This Car Restored By County Corvette West Chester, PA “Evolving from a passion for the Corvette hobby, County Corvette started like most small businesses, with humble beginnings twenty seven years ago in 1986. Years of hard work, dedication and loyalty to the Corvette community have made County Corvette into a world leader in the Corvette hobby. Reinvesting heavily into our business for all of our twenty five years has earned us the largest, best equipped facility in the world. A reputation for the utmost integrity and a skill level second to none have not only added to our success but created a strong legacy of respect by Corvette enthusiasts around the world”. http://www.countycorvette.com/ This car has been garaged with only 1,200 miles driven since Restoration. TEAK OVER-SIZED STEERING WHEEL, NEW WHITE SOFT TOP, KNOCKOFFS, POSI REAR DIFFERENTIAL, TINTED WINDSHIELD, POWER BRAKES, GENERAL AMERI-WAY XL TIRES, WORKING ORIGINAL AM/FM RADIO, ALL GAUGES AND CLOCK WORKING, POWER STEERING, WORKING POWER ANTENNA, ALL NEW INTERIOR, HOLLY 4-BARREL CARBURETOR AND DUAL PLANE ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD ORIGINAL 4 SPEED MUNCIE MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND ORIGINAL ENGINE This car has the correct engine block with vin number, (ORIGINAL L79 327C.I./350HP) Body straight with no known accidents or sign of accidents Correct Casting Numbers, Exhaust Manifolds, Intake Manifolds, Hose Clamps, Radiator, Starter, Alternator, Water Pump, Distributor, Distributor Cap, Washer Motor, Horns, Horn Relay, Voltage Regulator, Battery, Battery Cables, Tie Rods, Shocks, Gauges, Panels, Glass, Moldings, Top and Seats. Bonding Strips are in place. The Valve Covers are correct for a 350 Horse 327c.i. Correct tower hose clamps, a new wiring harness, and proper finishes throughout make the engine bay look fresh from the dealership. Underneath, the chassis offers proper markings, fittings, and finishes. The sound of a high-winding small block blowing through a correct dual exhaust system is inspiring. NO BOLT UNTURNED A RUST FREE FRAME AND VERY CLEAN UNDER CARRIAGE The engine bay was nicely detailed with Chevy Orange paint, and correct chrome tin-work on the air cleaner and ignitionThis VETTE was purchased directly from County Corvette, upon completion of the Restoration. The car has since been garaged with only 1,200 miles driven since Restoration. Family Estate Vehicle. Mechanical components were rebuilt or replaced, the car was previously painted professionally, (2005 - see two or three 1/2 inch paint cracks below the two lower windshield corners and at nose just in front of the hood - shown in photos), a base coat/clear coat process was used and the interior was completely restored to original specifications.Original Working AM/FM Radio, Original working Clock. All Gauges function perfectly along with Antenna Motor, Head Light Motors, (although right side is a bit slower than the left side). Tinted Windshield. Engine runs at a consistent 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Oil Pressure pins the gauge just above 60 lbs., and the Amp Meter sits comfortably at zero or a bit above - indicating the charging system is working at its peak. The Car Runs Beautifully. The high-quality professional restoration yielded incredibly well-done results with the Milano Maroon body boasting near-perfect fit and gaps, (see photos), and a beautiful Black-colored interior. The original L79 350 hp, 327 ci V8 under the hood, drives a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and the posi rear end. Open this Vette's doors and you'll find a new interior that's complete and classic. First is a pair of pleated bucket seats that were fully rebuilt during the car's restoration. At the base of the windshield, a traditional dual-cowl dash hangs a brushed accent panel next to a continuous motion clock and aircraft-inspired gauges. At the sides of the car, clean maroon door panels center correct chrome hardware on straight stainless trim. At the floor, are brand new carpets. At the center of the cockpit, a traditional C2 console anchors a beefy shifter behind a correct AM/FM radio. In front of the driver, is a gorgeous Teak Corvette wheel. And below the car's retracted top, a fully carpeted storage compartment shows virtually no signs of use at all. The factory metal frame rail end caps by the "kick-up" dog legs are still present. During the restoration, the rear trailing arms were rebuilt and received new bushings. The front end received new tie rods ends, upper/lower ball joints, wheels bearings and bushings. New u-joints, metal brake lines, along with custom fuel lines. The new springs, shocks, and other items were all detailed with the correct paint finish and stickers. Most of the chrome items have been re-chromed and look great (the horn 'ring' is a bit pitted as are the seat position levers) . The bumpers look perfect along with the four taillight bezels, grille, emblems, rear view mirror, gas door, and door handles, all in great shape. There are no dings or scratches on any of the stainless steel trim parts. Glass: All of the glass looks original. Even the tinted windshield has the correct date code. It looks great with no chips or wiper marks. The stainless steel wiper arms are in place. There are no scratches on the side window glass. Both side windows roll up and down without any problems along with the two vent windows. Both mirrors look good with no scratches or de-lamination problem. The correct heat shielding, radio shielding, air cleaner, radiator and fan shroud are all present. Everything in this engine compartment was removed cleaned or painted and then reinstalled. Everything is correct, right down to the bolts, decals, correct clamps, GM Hoses and paint colors for all the parts. Mechanical: Original "Numbers Matching" power train with the correct date and stamped codes. No known problems with this 327/350HP motor. It does not smoke, leak, tick, or hesitate. It does have the aroma of a per-catalytic converter automobile. It drives strong, shifts perfectly and looks like a dream. The Clutch functions correctly. Good luck bidding. On Jul-27-13 at 12:17:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been asked about pictures: I do not have undercarriage photos. I've not had it on a lift. I am selling for brother's estate. He purchased the car while under restoration by/from County Corvette for $60K in 2008. It has been under a Corvette cover and in a climate controlled dedicated garage since. Its never been wet. He drove the car 1,200 miles total. It was serviced annually by County Corvette, (I have the invoices). My brother was a Navy trained pilot, checked out on multiple commercial jets and flew acrobatics. He owned a '66 Vette in 1966. Between then and this car, he owned a number of Ferrari. He was uncompromising in these matters
