Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1971 AMC Hornet. It was built to be a NMCA drag car. The car is fully street legal with working lights, turn signals, and brake lights. I have been driving the car to work a couple times a week as weather permits. We built the car about 9 years ago to go racing. I've had my fun and it's time to move on. The car has about 52 passes on it. It's turn key ready to go. The largest N2O hit this car has ever received was a 75 hp. shot. The engine was built to take way over that. No need to worry about freshening up the engine anytime soon. The engine was always pre oiled with the oil accumulator before start up. This car was built with the best parts available as you will see in the description. If you have an interesting trade let me know what it is, maybe your car is the new one for me. Truthfully if the car was wet sanded and buffed it would look even better. 1974 Ford Grabber Blue. We spent a little over $45,000 to build this car. We had planned on a bigger motor for it by now to run the 8.50's the chassis and driveline is designed for but never did, the car was just so much fun the way it is. Stone ax reliable, would never hurt the driveline. The car has run a best of 10.20's with a 75 shot of nitrous with 60 ft's in the 1.40's. We honestly just never ran the car enough to squeeze more out of it, such as a bigger hit with nitrous. And I know the rear can be dialed in a bit better for improved 60 foot times. In short this is a great weekend drag car, or go series racing for that matter !!, and drive it to car shows when not at the track. I'm now looking for something more tame to take on weekend drives with the new wife. I have a very reasonable reserve and as I said before am open to trades. The last time the car was raced was in 2011. Inspection:I invite anyone that wishes to see the car before auction end to just contact me and let me know when they can come. I'm very open to anyone who wishes to see the car and meet me in person. I want this to be as easy and honest as I can make it for both of us. Payment and shipping:A $1,000 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end.Full payment due and funds cleared before vehicle leaves.Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.I will assist anyway I can however.
