This engine produced 295 horsepower in 1993 (as compared to 170-200 HP in previous Allante V8 engines). The Allante''s body was designed and built in Italy by renowned coachbuilder Pininfarina (of Ferrari fame) and then flown on specially equipped 747s to Detroit to be mated to the chassis for final assembly. Only 4,670 were equipped with the Northstar Engine. This 1993 Cadillac Allante is the year to have, was over $65,000 new, and the only one with the NORTHSTAR V8.
