Vehicle Detail
1988 Porsche 944 over $7,000 in chassis/suspension upgrades.Hopefully 3rd time listing is the charm, Original winning bidder refused to pay claiming 16 year old son bid without permission, so please only serious bidders. I purchased the car in 1996 from a bank repossession with the intention to vastly improve all aspects of the car while maintaining it as a daily driver. The car has been registered in Wyoming and Colorado since I purchased it. The car comes with $6,000 in chassis upgrades including: 250 lb Hypercoil Springs, Koni Sport “Yellow” adjustable front struts with competition bump rubbers and dust covers, Koni Sport “Yellow” rear shocks, carbon graphite bushings at all suspension pick up points front and rear, adjustable ride height kit, Weltmeister fully adjustable 28mm front sway bars with adjustable drop links, Weltmeister fully adjustable 22mm rear sway bars, Weltmeister 28mm rear torsion bars, Cambermeister strut tower brace, replaced control arms at time of suspension upgrade. $3,000 in parts and $3100 in labor to install suspension. Over $1,000 in brake upgrades, including cross drilled rotors front/rear, pagid brake pads and stainless steel brake lines. Suspension and brake upgrade done at 160,000 miles along with new CV joints. Brakes done at Prestige Porsche Audi, Suspension done at Eurosport LTD with a street/autocross calibrated setup. Corners flat! With all of the chassis/suspension work, this car would be a prime candidate for a more powerful engine and transmission combination, and that was my intent. Build the car first to handle extra power and then add the extra power, I just never got to the final step.Cylinder head removed and machined with engine internals inspected to verify engine was in good order with no need to replace, installation of new head gasket and valve stem seals at 160,010 miles by Prestige Porsche Audi.Borla exhaust, with new catalytic converter, and MSDS intake installed at 165,000 miles.Replaced clutch rubber flex disk plate at 159,339 miles by Prestige Porsche Audi.Replaced timing belt, tensioners, balance shaft belts, and seals at 154,632 miles by Prestige Porsche Audi.Automatic transaxle replaced at 152,852 miles by Prestige Porsche Audi.Full cooling system replacement at 152,321 miles including all hoses and new radiator by Prestige Porsche Audi.Car has APC sports seats installed, but I also have the original seats that can be included with the purchased price of the car. Power windows, door locks, and sunroof work. Power mirrors haven't worked since I have owned the car, not sure why, manual adjustment was easy enough, just set it and forget it. Pop-up head lights open and close with no issues. No leaks as far as I can tell. The car hasn't been driven in the rain since I retired it as a daily driver in 2001. I did check and the front wipers do work. Rear wiper hasn't worked since I owned it, I did have the Porsche dealer look at it, and he said it was the motor, and this was a common fail point. AC switch stopped working two years ago, not sure if it is the switch or a relay, I see both pop up on eBay regularly for cheap, but since I haven't been driving the car that much I never jumped in to investigate what to replace. Stereo is an Eclipse CD head unit with Rockford Fosgate Amps and Infinity Speakers and Sub. All workThe car has been garage kept for the last 12 years, and in the last 7 years, I basically run the car through a tank of gas every six months and store it with STA-BIL fuel stabilizer. The car has 172,500 miles. This is an automatic transmission car. I have all maintenance and parts documents since I have owned it. The car is being sold as is with no warranty. Body has a number of dents from being backed into in a parking lot, and a mishap at the dealer from backing into a lift post with the driver door open along with minor scratches and rock chips in the front. Windshield is cracked. Car is located in Parker, CO.I had the car out over the 4th with my daughter, car runs really strong. I do recommend that the buyer replace the timing belt soon due to age.
