Mechanic Special !!! 1994 Green Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab Z71 4x4 with Manual transmission (5-speed). Over 200,000 miles, I think everything is original on it. Runs and drives. I think just about everything leaks. Engine, tranny, radiator, you name it. The interior is in poor condition. I used to smoke in it, the rear window is not sealed properly so water leaks into the cab. There is mold stains. There are stains and burn marks. The engine runs okay but I believe the rear end is going out. It sounds like a freight train when driving it at higher speeds, I would not recommend driving it in it's current condition. I am not a mechanic but a friend of mine said it was the rear end. He replaced the drive line center bearing support (cost me around $150 had to take it to a machine shop to set the bearing) and that did not solve the issue. He also said the U-joints weren't the cause of the problem. When you jack up the rear end and spin the tires, you can hear it clunk in the back end. The front lights on the bumper do not work. The lights on the roof do work. The radio is not installed and no speakers. Parts of the lower dash are missing. Two tires should be replaced. Windshield is cracked. One of the side mirrors is shattered, victim of a baseball. Has power locks and windows but I'm not sure how well they work. I think most of the lights work. The transmission used to work ok. 2nd gear was always a little touchy. You have to let the RPM's drop before putting it into 2nd gear or it will grind. Down shifting can also be touchy until you get used to it. It has a tow package and will include the tow hitch & ball. I towed a pop-up camper a few times and it did okay. Towards the end of the long trip, it would slip out of gear when going up very steep hills (took it to Mt. Saint Helens). The fuel pump went out that is located in the gas tank several months ago. When it was replaced, the floater valve was bent so the gas gauge no longer works. It always shows it is on empty or always full. The body has some dents, dings and some rust. The chrome trim is also flaking off. It had rain guards above the windows at one point and there is glue residue left over. The bed does have a liner, it might be cracked though. It does have a bug shield on the hood! It also has two exhaust pipes (duel exhaust). This was my daily driver for 3 years. It has been sitting in my driveway for several months now. I just installed a brand new but small battery so you can hear it fire right up after purchase (A $40 value). It needs a tune up pretty bad. I don't have the time, money, tools or the skills necessary to get this road worthy. If I did have these things, I would without a doubt keep this truck. Consider this a real fixer upper or part it out. This is being sold "As is". I've listed everything that I can think of that is wrong with it.
