NO TITLE. NO TITLE. NO TITLE. You are bidding on one 1978 Fiat 124 Spider. 1756cc engine, 5 speed. 98K Original miles!!! Runs great, new spark plugs, rebuilt 32ADFA carb, new radiator cap, but rear end has a stripped pinion, so it will need to be replaced to drive the car. The rear passenger brake and rotor have been taken loose, but I have both of them. This would be a great car for parts as the engine runs fantastic, the top is decent, and many other very useful and hard to find parts are present. The body is straight, but does have some rust issues, not too bad though. SEE PHOTOS. The rockers and floors are in pretty good condition, with very little rust, isolated to a few small areas. Here are the details: CAR DOES NOT COME WITH FRONT SEATS, GAS TANK, BATTERY OR FUEL PUMP. WHEELS AND TIRES IN PICTURES WILL NOT COME WITH THE CAR, BUT I WILL SUPPLY A SET OF WHEELS AND TIRES OF ROLLER QUALITY. I have the car running on an auxiliary gas tank setup, which will not be included in sale either. TONS OF PHOTOS AND VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING AT BOTTOM OF LISTING. Click on the link at the bottom of listing to be directed to the photobucket hosting page. ENGINE: Engine compression is 130-135-135-130 Front to back. That was even with a weak battery. Engine runs great, holds temperature, electric fan works properly. New spark plugs, rebuilt 32 ADFA, new condenser and radiator cap. There is a small oil leak at the dipstick, easy fix, other than that, no oil leaks, coolant leaks etc. CAR DOES NOT COME WITH GAS TANK, BATTERY OR FUEL PUMP. TRANSMISSION: Goes into all gears and activates rear end but with stripped pinion, the car does not move well. Clutch feels great. No transmission leaks, etc... INTERIOR: Console is very nice, all controls are there, nice wood panels on dash. Dash panels and gauges are in very nice condition. Door panels are of driver quality, with a small split/tear in the top of the driver side door panel. Passenger side panel is nice. All plastic trim is good, front kick panels have been modified and had speakers installed. Rear seats in good shape. What remaining carpet is very faded. CAR DOES NOT COME WITH FRONT SEATS. ELECTRICAL: Turn signals, hazards, running lights, heater fan, headlights(high and low beam), all warning lights on dash working. Brake stoplights, dash panel lights(for gauges) not working. The horn is tripping the relay, but the horn is not blowing. The wipers are doing the same thing. Probably just some grounding issues, as most everything else is working. The bulbs for the rear side marker light on each fender is burnt out. CHASSIS: Pretty solid overall. There is a small hole at the driver seatbelt boss, a hole at the edge of the rear driver floorpan next to the rocker and the front of the driver side floor pan to the left next to the edge. SEE PHOTOS. The suspension mounts are all good. There is some slight corrosion at both front strut mounts, but nothing major, I have seen much worse. SEE PHOTOS. The passenger trailing arm has been welded at some point right in the middle. Not sure what the deal was for the repair, but it is solid. I cannot test the brakes since the passenger rear has been removed. The master cylinder is tight, but if you step on it, the brakes do lock down. BODY: Very straight overall. Heavy rust over driver rear fender. This is the worst spot. Rear driver lower fender panel is coming loose. Some rust on bottom edges of trunk. I DO NOT HAVE THE TRUNK KEY LOCK CYLINDER. Some other various places of rust here and there, but not the worst I have seen on these. SEE PHOTOS FOR BEST DESCRIPTION. Doors are good, windows roll up and down great, all glass is good. Evidence of a respray at some point, not the best job, not the worst either. Top functions as it should and is of driver quality, rear window in good condition. Rear bumper is missing both end caps. WHAT WOULD I DO: This is a great running engine and would be perfect for someone needing a CHEAP replacement. The transmission seems to operate fine, but I cannot test it 100% due to the pinion being stripped out. This would be a fun race car project for Lemons or whatever.
