Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1994 Alfa Romeo Spider Commemorative Edition #074/190 This is one of the most unique cars you can find in the Alfa Romeo Spider edition. In fact these 190 cars that were made in 1994 are the very last of the Alfa Spiders produced. After 28 years of producing the Spider and 4 “updates” of this classic these last 190 cars ended the Spider era. A plaque on the passenger side gives the edition number of the car produces. In this case you are looking at #74 . You can learn more about the Spider by going to Wikipedia or do a search for 1994 Alfa Romero Spider. I bought this car last year thinking that I was going to restore the car and use it as a driver when I am moving back to Florida next year. It has been stored in my warehouse since I bought it. I used to own one of these cars when I was living in Southern France in the early 90s. Find memories but when you are in your 20s you obviously do not care as much for space as you do when you are in your 40s. At 6ft4 I simply am not comfortable in the car. So …it has to go. The car is not a show-car (yet) but has the value and patina to actually make an exceptional restoration project. These limited editions can run $15,000 and more for pristine cars. There are title issues with this vehicle that you need to be aware of. The car was involved in an accident a few years back. It was “salvaged” by the insurance company, meaning that the repairs to their standards were too high. The accident was on the front right corner. Some paint work had been done prior to me receiving the car. With great cost and care I had the frame pulled and properly aligned in the same shop that I used for my Ferraris over the years. The lower side skirt needs to be attached but giving the overall paint condition I would actually repaint the entire car. There are two rust areas that need attention. On the front fender where it meets the hood (see pictures) and on the side panel lower part are two rust areas. Other than that, for an Italian car, there is very little else it needs. The clear coat has the typical peeling that is why I would refresh the entire paint. The seats to my knowledge need to be recovered. You can find the recover kits easy online. The steering wheel has a few scruff marks in line with age of the car. The top is in good condition although it shows signs of age on the inside of it. Also here to make it perfect you find recover kits easy online. There is no tonneau cover for the top. There are also no books for the car but the spare tire and jack kit is with the car. The radio on the car is a Alfa radio with a CD changer. The changer is disconnected. I have no idea f the radio or the CD works. There are a few special things these “CE” editions have. The number badge on the glove compartment door, the wheels have special center caps (3 of the 4 missing), there is a “CE” badge on the rear and the front has a nose badge. I have the nose badge but it is not attached and is in worn state. The trunk and gas opener are released from the inside through a lever. The levers are not attached at this point. You can pull on the cable to pull them open but they need to be properly attached. Mechanical condition: The car runs nice and now also straight. I have not gone into looking at break pads etc. There is a small oil leak on the engine when it is sitting, then it would not be an Italian sportscar if it were not leaking. Also comes with a new battery I put in March.. Since the car has a “salvage title” it will need to be presented for inspection at your local DMV. This is typically an easy procedure to get the title changed into a rebuilt title. Consult with your State’s DMV though to be sure. The minimum bid here is the price I paid for the car plus the repairs I had done. Please do not ask me if you can buy it for less. I know what this car is worth and so do you. You are getting a sweet deal.
