One Cool Little Truck. It gets all the attention wherever you take it, probably my most popular Hot-Rod project ever. I'm going to lose my shirt on this deal but my wife says something has to go if I want that new softail slim. I've had the truck three years, it cost me a fortune in parts and machine shop labor but I made sure everything was done right.. It is a complete Build of an old body on a modern chassis with power brakes, steering and auto transmission, a kid can even drive it. VERY Clean and Straight body, Tight drivetrain, and driven regularly. About 3000 miles since the full drivetrain restoration right down to the nuts and bolts, nothing was half a$$ed done.. This truck is sound and will start up and drive without any headaches, it starts up and goes on down the road like my new Silverado. It drives straight and smooth, the wheel don't pull and it don't wander, rides smooth like a modern chassis. Everything from the Radiator cap to the back tire is new or newly rebuilt. NOT A RUST BUCKET. Truck body came from the West Texas dry climate and there is amazingly little rust for a 58 year old vehicle. This truck was put together from parts of different vehicles. It is a really cool hot rod cruiser. We mostly used it for a Sunday driver to the beach and in several Parades and amateur shows in the Florida panhandle. This truck draws a crowd and thumbs up wherever you take it. 1955 Chevy Apache Body, Candy Red with clear coat paint, inside and out painted at the same time, good daily driver paint job. NO dings or dents. Not a show job but a good smooth clear coated candy job. Smooth, NO orange peel. Nice clear glass, windows work good. 1978 C-10 Chassis with power steering, power brakes, auto Transmission, and Tilt Wheel added. Front disc brakes. Rebuilt 12 bolt rear end. New everything inside the rear end. Front end is tight and don't eat up tires. Good alignment, good bushings, NEW shocks all the way around.New wiring, all the wiring was replaced and new modern fuse blocks were installed under the hood. The wiring is sound and all the lights and buttons work. Everything works, it has a high torque starter that spins the engine right up and the charging system is NEW,New Aftermarket heater under the dash. NO AC....Machine Shop built 400 Cubic Inch small block Chevy, 1995 model, Vortec heads and valves, burns unleaded fuel. Decent CAM for a nice rumbly idle but not so stupid it stalls out at the red lights. Stall torque convertor, Headers into flowmaster welded duals, aluminum intake, and Holley 750 4bbl. Electronic ignition in a new Mallory distributor. Lots of Old school stuff, nothing flashy and dopey from the PepBoys bling chrome aisle. engine puts 400 rompin horse power to the tranny and will smoke the tires as long as you can afford the rubber.I made sure that I nor any of the shops that worked on this truck put absolutely NO cheap chinese crap on this truck, it is all top quality parts and hardware. The only junk on here is the plastic under bedrail tool box that the wife and I used to haul shopping bags in when we took it on day trips to the strip at the beach. Two 3/8 bolts hold it down to the bed. easily removed.NEW custom built aluminum radiator with T-stat electric fan and shroud built in. Keeps her very cool on those hot days. Tranny Shop rebuilt TH350 automatic. Not a cheapo job. Holds together good under pressure.New American Racing Wheels, New BF Goodrich rubber all less than 2000 miles. No signs of wear.Nice interior, the dash was NEVER chopped up. No big gaping holes left over from some 8 track or cassette player in the dash. New paint inside, New Bench seat and a NEW gas tank behind the seat.I park this truck inside, it has NO LEAKS, None.Tilt Steering wheel. Cool sound system behind the seat that you can plug that Iphone or ipod directly into. Rockford Fosgate.All the doors and hood shut tight and lines are straight. Windows and vent windows work. I have 2 sets of keys and the locks are NOT worn out. I hauled the original truck and old 283 engine on a U-haul transport 3 years ago with a Chevy Silverado 1500. The hauler only cost me 150$ one way. 500 miles. I have a Florida Title for a 55 chevy Truck that gets you a tag and REG. It is clean and in my hand. I insure it as a vintage truck for about 350 a year with 20k full coverage. Hagerty Insurance is a good place to shop price on the internet. The truck is running and ready to enjoy.
