Hard to find 1976 Honda CB550F Super Sport in Shiny Orange - professionally rebuilt motor (top and bottom) with the 600cc big bore kit installed (over $1500 invested). Only 100 miles on the engine. The wimpy stock cylinder head bolts were replaced with the heavy duty bolts from Cycle Exchange. This bike only had 5800 original miles on it when I purchased it last year but the engine was seized from sitting. When disassembled, the internals looked brand new. Everything was inspected during the rebuild process and the external components were either painted or polished - the engine looks great, as do the sweet stock headers. The carbs were also rebuilt, polished and synched. The inside of the tank was cleaned and coated with KBS Gold sealer, the front caliper assembly is brand new along with the upper brake hose. The tires are new Dunlop K70's, and the stock muffler has been replaced with a double-baffled Shorty - sounds awesome. The battery and chain are also new. I have new All Balls wheel bearings that will that go with the bike. With the exception of the mechanical stuff, I left the bike in ORIGINAL condition so if you're looking for a pristine show bike this isn't it (but certainly could be). The tank has some shallow dents and scratches, the right side cover has a couple of cracks, the frame has surface rust in spots, and the rear brake hub/drum and fork sliders are oxidized. The chrome is in very good condition for a 37 year-old bike, some pitting on signal stems and cases, the front fender has a ding or two and has lost some of it's shine. The stock seat (chocolate brown) is very nice with only a couple of minor tears along the seam. THE WIRING IS ALL STOCK !! Yes - everything is there, and everything works including the incredibly annoying signal beeper. A very clean rat bike - light and fast! The bike is located in Charlotte, NC but is currently registered and tagged in Vermont. Vermont does not issue titles on vintage bikes but I do have a transferrable registration card in my name. States that do issues titles will require this. Overall, this is a super easy restoration or cafe conversion, or it would make a great daily scoot as-is. I need the garage space so it has to go. The reserve is very reasonable for a bike that will only go up in value - Good Luck.
