Vehicle Detail

For Sale: 1969 Ford F250 Camper Special More pics here: http://s915.photobucket.com/user/oof_da/library/1969%20F250 Runs and drives very well, but read on: 360 2bbl, C6 Auto, 3.55 Limited Slip axle, 2WD Factory PS, A/C, Power front disc brakes, and Aux fuel tank Has dual-battery tray and massive switch, but not sure if this is “factory” A/C condition unknown, I have never tried to turn it on. Compressor is not seized, but I removed the belt anyway. Truck ran fine with belt installed. New parts installed by me: Re-built carb, re-built front brake calipers. New points, condenser, coil, fuel filter, front shocks, pass-side muffler and tail pipe. Bone-stock as far as I can tell, except for the receiver hitch under the front bumper, and the receiver/tire carrier in the rear, and possibly the dual exhaust; something tells me that the factory offering was single exhaust. Seat was obviously re-covered. Headlights taillights, and blinkers work, but I think the stop lights don’t work. Heater fan works, but I don’t know if the actual HEAT works. The climate controls are mostly frozen in place, but I’m POSITIVE this is because of the push/pull-wire-within-wire-wrap type control cables that ALWAYS seize when not used for long periods. Radio doesn’t turn on, but that’s not a surprise given the condition of the dash (suspect the speaker is toast). Speedo and dash lights work, but not sure about the other gauges. Aux fuel tank filler hose (rubber) underneath bed is dis-lodged (not hooked up), not sure why. Doors and windows operate nicely. I have only driven this truck down the road and around the block, but it starts VERY easily, runs well, doesn’t overheat, and the tranny works fine. Engine sounds whisper quiet and tight, no valvetrain noises or manifold leaks at all. BONUS: The Limited-Slip rear axle actually works! Was NOT expecting that, especially on an older truck like this. Rides like a DREAM compared to my other ’66 F250. Tracks straight, stops straight. This truck came straight from CA, I have clear title. As you can tell, it looks like it had a camper in its bed most of its life, because the bed and tailgate sheet metal are so straight. I can’t tell if it’s been painted, but it LOOKS like original-paint patina. If rubbed out it begins to shine. Cab roof rail is pristine. No rot or rust-thru ANYWHERE. This truck has all the earmarks of a truck that was left to sit for a LONG time in the desert sun, and the things I did were just what you would expect to have to do to resurrect such a vehicle (fuel filter was a solid block of varnish, calipers were frozen, carb was a mess…) I bought this thinking I could just jump in and drive, but that’s just not the case. Sure, it runs and drives, but it really needs someone to sort out the stoplights, put some different mirrors on it (has gawdawful Ford West Coast Mirrors), add new interior rearview mirror, get the dash controls to work, get the seatbelts working, replace those awful tires, and probably give it a proper tune-up. I am out of time and money. There are two pics that show what this truck would look like with proper-size tires and Ford Dog-dish hubcaps. They came off my ’66 daily driver, and I swapped them on just to get a true feeling of the driving quality. It is amazingly WONDERFUL how nicely this truck rides. I prefer to restore my trucks mechanically and just DRIVE them, but this is a great candidate for a restoration. For Sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. On Jun-20-13 at 09:12:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention that it DOES NOT COME WITH THE BATTERY. Sorry, I had to drop a C-note just to get it home after it was advertised as having a "new battery", and my '66 battery went dead about that same time, so it is what it is. Made a promise to the wife not to spend one more cent on it. True story.
