Vehicle Detail

Super nice 1968 912 is a great driving and handling car that is in fantastic condition! Just put in the key and you are ready to go! Everything in the car works well -except the clock. The runs rock-solid solid in every way and a get lots of thumb-ups from other drivers. I purchased my cherished 912 in the summer, 2009 from Aventura Motors in Miami--they sell beautifully restored and serviced vehicles. In the four years I have owned the car, it has been well cared for. I have had the car serviced at Mullenix Motorsport Engineering in Richardson TX. Ed Mullenix is the Technical Editor for the Mavericks Porsche Club here in Dallas. The car was in great shape when I received it and Ed did full a thorough check. I did need a new master cylinder, oil change and a new speedo cable. It also has a pretty new battery. The body is super straight, free of rust (body and frame) and the paint is beautiful. The best I can tell it was resprayed blue several years ago and does not need painting (the original color was Sand). The engine provides plenty of power and the 4-speed is super torquey--a previous owner installed a short-throw clutch so this is a super easy car to drive. The original carbs have been replaced with Weber Carbs that give the car more power than the spec 98hp. And a dry-sump oil pump has been installed, which much more reliable than the original system. There is a slight crack in the chrome trim piece under the driving lamp on the passenger side. The interior is in very good shape and has a sporty Momo steering wheel. The seats are great and the stainless steel trim is in very good condition. I replaced the stereo with an old-school style unit that takes thumbs drives and micro cards for music. In keeping with the original period appearance I left the speakers on the package shelf in the rear. The drivers side door panel has a tear on the arm rest and there is some slight cracking on the top trim (this never bothered me). On the passengers side the the door card trim has the outline of a round speaker cut-out next the speaker that was installed. The center on the dash has a crack that has been patched from a tube with a black vinyl material. What I Iove about my 912 is that it has two sets of wheels and tires--1) the original old-school chrome hubs and 2) original black-out after-market wheels of the day with an embossed Porsche logo in the center cap which are mounted on some nice Michelins with plenty of miles left. Also, I will include a 1968 Porsche 912 Service Manual and a good quality car cover. I always kept the car garaged, covered and hooked-up to a trickle-charger. I hate to part with the car but I have been commuting out-of-town to a new job so I don't get to enjoy my baby as often as I would like. Please let me know if you would like more pictures--I can put it on a lift.On Jun-18-13 at 17:53:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Super nice 1968 912 is a great driving and handling car that is in fantastic condition!
