Vehicle Detail
"1965 Triumph TR6 SR 650 "Highway Trophy" '65 Triumph 650 SR, this is a rare bike , as Triumph only made the SR or "Highway Trophy", as Cycle World called it in their 1966 road test, for 2 years. Selling to finance existing projects. This matching frame and engine numbers bike has been restored as a neat, clean daily rider with some modern upgrades; new JRC PWK 30 mm carb from JRC, high output alternator and Sparx electronic ignition. It runs very well, no smoke or rattles, starts easy and looks SO nice! It has had a full rebuild, including the motor, with new AE +30 pistons and rings, new main & big end bearings, crank case breather update, new guides, lapped in valves, cleaned out sludge trap, new gearbox bearings, new Regina chain, new high-output Alternator, Sparx electronic ignition and matching electronic regulator rectifier, new wiring harness and switches. . New tires and tubes, fresh paint and a new ($200.00) two tone seat from JRC. New front down pipes but I kept the original mufflers even though the L/H one has a braze repair on the underside. All lights work as does the horn. This bike has been featured in many local bike shows and is lots of fun. Note: So far, the bike has about 150miles on the rebuilt motor, it leaks oil after a run but quits as the bike sits, Chain rattles on the chain guard brake switch fastener. It does not have any pushrod tube or rocker box leaks. Still has the original "clunky" forks and poor original front brake. As this is an older bike, it will require periodic maintenance, the later bikes had nicer forks and a twin leading shoe front brake. Possible updates for the future. The bike does not have a speedo cable, the mileage shown on the speedo is not the actual mileage. Bike is located in Wichita, KS. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Deposit $250.00 is required at auction's end. Payment in full must be made within one week of auction's end. Local pick up is okay. I can keep bike for up to two weeks while shipping/pick up arrangements are made. If you are bidding from outside of the US, please contact me before bidding! If you have questions, please contact me before bidding. On Jun-20-13 at 16:11:18 PDT, seller added the following information: 6/20/2013, At the request of a potential bidder, I added a few more pictures to include the engine and frame numbers. The picture of the frame number did not come out too well but please be assured, they match what is on the head stock. These numbers were recently inspected by the Kansas state motor vehicle unit in order that I could get my title. I also dug out a pile of receipts for the bike which include the machine shop work for the re-bore and the purchase of many parts from JRC in CA. Also, the bike has a 20 tooth front sprocket, for easier high way cruising (stock is a 18 or 19) and the bike does come with a side stand but it needs a piece welding to it as the bike leans over at a hazardous angle!
