1992 Ford Mustang LX 2.3 Listed for sale is a 1992 Mustang LX. I bought the car in 2008 and have owned it for the past 5 years. It has the 2.3 4-cylinder engine (no turbo) The car runs very well and has never broken down on me while I have owned it. It gets me about 23 MPG city and 29 MPG highway. I took very good care of the car and always performed maintenance on schedule and have detailed records of all work performed on the car. What works: Power windows, wipers, heat, radio, all lights, rear window de-fogger, all door handles and key locks. What doesn't work: Power door locks, Air Conditioning. - The power door locks are missing the actuator inside the door. The car came like this when I bought it so I don't know what happened to them. It's not a big deal because you can reach over and pull the handle. The key still unlocks the doors on both sides. The AC compressor went out about a year ago and needs to be changed. I replaced the condenser about 2 years ago so if you get a new compressor, the AC system will be virtually new. The paint on the car is in good shape except for the hood and the hatch (spoiler) - see pictures. The interior is very clean. There are no big stains in the cloth and the seats are not ripped. Non-smoker owner. The car has a new battery and new front brakes. I also changed the timing belt at 89,000 miles as preventative maintenance because they will break at about 100,000 miles. The tires tread is getting low (see pic) and will probably need to be changed in the near future. The spare tire with the jack and tire iron are still in good shape. I put a couple extra gauges on the dash. They show the oil pressure and transmission temperature. I did not do any modifications to the engine, just installed the gauges. The only thing extra on the car is a transmission cooler. This helps with city driving or long road trips. I have recently taken the car cross country and it handles it with no problem. The engine and transmission are in excellent shape and have no known issues. The car has no rust and the underbody is in excellent shape. There is a very small spot of bubbling paint on the passenger side wheel well. Other than that, there is no major cosmetic defects other than the usual tiny dings and scratches on a 21 year old car. The reason I'm selling the car is because I have recently bought a new car and no longer need this one. The car was in one accident before I purchased it. I don't know the details because it was the previous owner. From what I can tell, it was just a small front-end collision because the bumper was replaced and the front fender was new. No frame damage, or radiator damage, or anything major. The hood and rear hatch paint has faded because the previous owner left it in the sun all day. Like I said before, the car is in excellent mechanical condition and always runs great.
