Vehicle Detail

1912 Ford Model T Tourabout - 90 Photos Thank you for viewing this 1912 Ford Model T Tourabout. First, I must say this is a very nice car, you will have no problem, using it in Shows, Museum, Parades, Weddings, you name it, it just looks great, beautiful color scheme, excellent body, no rust extremely clean. This Model T has a Rootlieb body on it, that was built many years ago, and is in excellent condition today. The Frame is Original 1912 Ford Model T, Engine Transmission and Rear end all are Ford, engine is a 1916 engine, transmission has an original Chicago 3 spd Auxiliary unit. The front end is correct early Dodge Brothers, you can see the DB markings on it. The car is completely restored, has some minor chips and scratches, because it at the same time being a show car, it does get driven and used in parades and events. VIN stamped on motor and has a Tag plaque on dash all match the title. Overall this a very fine 1912 Ford Model T, again the body is a Roolieb body, the are very well know for building authentic and many Ford Official Lic. body parts for these cars. Rootlieb Bodied Touring, metal is very clean, there is no rust, no rust bubbles. The body is very straight, there are no dents, or waves in the panels. The paint is older, but has very nice shine, has a few minor chips in the red, that have been touched up for the most part, but not that many, see pictures, they are minor. The black on the running boards and fenders is very shiny, but the fenders have some chipping on the very edge that can be touched up easily. The body panels all line up very nice, you will notice the Tourabout, has no doors, which is very nice for events, weddings etc. The front seat sheet metal is the exact same for the rear. The undercarriage is in excellent shape, all painted and restored, very clean. The original 1912 frame is in great shape no issues. The car has been well cared for, and garaged since restoration. The interior is very nice, not much to explain, no rips or tears on the seats. All the wood is new as well on the car, all replaced, floorboards are excellent. The windshield is a Rands MFG reproduction. All the brass on the car and components, such as lights, horn etc are all authentic reproductions of the originals. The Speedometer is no hooked up on this car. The lights are not plumbed in, so they are currently not working, they could if you set them up. Horn works though. The top and bows are in excellent shape, also has a rear curtian which is a nice add when you want to cool it off, and lets the air go threw nicely at higher speeds. Mechanically it is in very good shape, the engine runs very good, starts right up, stays cool, you can hop in it right now and drive anywhere. The transmission shifts nicely, and is set up with a Chicago Auxiliary transmission, underdrive, straight and overdrive. This car drives very nice, has an original 1912 rearend in it, believe the transmission is original 1912 as well, but hard to tell because they all look the same for many years. The front end is an original early unit, has the Dodge Brothers Markings, and on spindles which is correct for 1912. If you want a dependable car that you can enjoy this is it. It also has been upgraded with Rocky Mountain brakes all the way around. The coils are all new as well. It runs off electric. It does run of Magneto as well, but at higher speeds the magneto comes and goes. The exhaust whistle works very good. This Model T runs very good, it starts right up, we use the hand crank and she starts like a charm. The wheels have been redone, and are very nice wood and finish, the tires are in excellent shape.
