Vehicle Detail
1972 Triumph Tiger TR6RV This bike is in good unrestored condition. I bought this bike a few months ago because my daughter thought it would be a fun "first bike". We put some time and $$ into fixing it up and then she realized that the whole right shift-left brake thing was just too "weird" for her. I have too many bikes already and would like to get it out of my garage. I don't know a lot about Triumphs, but this bike appears to be pretty much original. Any purists that want to point out things that are not correct are free to do so, but it is what it is. The bike is fitted with electronic ignition, starts with one kick and runs very strong. I have ridden it around 100 miles since I've owned it, and it works pretty well over all. I replaced the handlebars, speedo and tach cables, chain guard, and the rubber cups that hold the speedo and tach. I rebuilt the carburetor and have it tuned pretty well. I have mostly cleaned and polished it, and touched up some paint on the frame, and powdercoated the airbox covers. The brakes, lights, and horn work as they should. It looks pretty good for a 41 yr old bike. In the interest of full disclosure: 1) The speedo and odometer work but the needle is broken.2) The tach works but is not always accurate. 3) There are chips in the paint where the triple tree was hitting the tank (this is fixed but the damage is done).4) There is a gob of weld on the fender strut from a repair sometime in the bikes history. 5) There is an oil leak that I cant find the source of. Not bad, but the bike will mark it's territory on the garage floor if it sits in one spot for a few days. My Triumph rider friends tell me this is common but I can't testify to what is "normal" for these old bikes.
