We're the second owners of this excellent 2000 Honda Insight hybrid with under 28,000 miles! We've owned this for a little over a year. We bought it with just 16,000 miles on odometer from the original owner to use as a commuter car but are no longer commuting now due to a job change. We have the original sticker price and maintenance/service records from the original dealership where it was bought. The IMA battery was changed in March of 2012 by the original owner and all recall services were also made by the dealer. Everything works the way it should and we've had no issues or problems. Both owners being non-smoking adult drivers, the interior is without damage. No accidents, no dents or dings anywhere with only very tiny paint flakes from rocks and a couple small top-coat scratches from careless people when parked in public lots. This has been well maintained and serviced by a Honda dealership since new. It has been garage kept and never driven in snow by both owners. We did drive it during winter on clear roads to maintain the IMA battery. Truly a nice commuter car that averages 60-65 mpg. With a strong tail wind we got over 90 mpg a few times! The price of gas makes this the ideal commuter car with many more years of driving life ahead. With such low mileage on this first year Honda hybrid, a smart collector could look to the future desirability of owning the top EPA rated fuel efficient production vehicle of all time. Or just drive by the gas pumps as you frugally commute back and forth for many years to come.
