Vehicle Detail

1957 Chevrolet Monster School Bus NO RESERVE!!!!!"School of Hard Knocks" Graphics. HUGE ATTENTION GETTER!!! If you cruise in this or take it to parades, everyone runs up and wants a ride.1957 Chevrolet body1982 International Chassis345ci International Engine4 speed Allison Automatic transmission4 wheel steer with military Deuce and a half hydraulic controlled rear end. Rear end steer is controlled with a lever mounted left of the driver. See pic with my hand on the lever. Haven't tried it myself other than to straighten the rear end for straight driving.Flame throwing Exhaust. This new exhaust system was designed to allow you to pass state inspection. Note from the pictures how each exhaust pipe splits and either goes straight up or down into an electric controlled cutoff collector. To pass inspection, there is a hold down bracket that goes across the top of the exhausts to hold them down and prevent exhaust bleed off at the top, and you open the cutoff. To throw flames or sound badd, you remove the brackets and close the cutoffs and the exhaust flows out the top. Extremely cool to see all the tops bob up/down as the engine is running.External speakers mounted underneath (see picture) which is powered by an in-dash CD so you can play your tunes while crusing. Check out the link below of the bus in action.School bus red lights work as do the KC style lights.Big Michelen 16x20 Military tires.Top speed is 50-55 and you need to keep your wits about you. If the road isn't smooth it can move you around a bit due to the relatively light weight bus (as compared to significantly heavier military vehicles) on the large and massive military tires. I drove down the highway and through downtown to cruise in the Lone Star Round Up action in Austin (see video link) and I didn't have an issue. But again, I needed to stay focused. Also, these are a regular power brakes and not air brakes. It will certainly stop the bus, but again, you need to stay focused if you are at high speed due to the rolling mass of those large wheels/tires.Video of the bus cruising Congress Ave in Austin during the Lone Star Round up Cruise. Hear the music playing under the bus. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMZNGkYix0sMiles are unknown. I listed what is on the new speedometer/odometer as it makes me enter something.8 seats which will accomodate 16 adults or 24 children (not including driver/seat).Paint is faded, however, I think it has the right look so I left it that way.
