Vehicle Detail
1974 Honda XL100K0 Here is a very clean, non-molested, XL100. I purchased this bike from a gentleman who had owned it for a number of years. It had been in heated heated storage and the fuel system had been drained. I put fresh gas and a new spark plug in it and it started up on the third kick. The bike starts and runs great. I ran it up and down the street and it shifts through the gears just fine and the clutch works as it should. It has a little valve train noise as most of these bikes did. I did not adjust the valves or the cam chain. The brakes are strong and everything seems to be straight and true. The front tire is slightly weather checked but I have an extra tire to go along with the bike. The rear tire is good but not an original. The chain is somewhat rusty and should probably be replaced but the sprockets are in good condition. I have not noticed any fluid leaks since it has been sitting in my garage. The exhaust is solid but has some minor dings as seen in the pictures. The speedo works fine. The headlight and tail light also work. The turn signals do not but I have not spent any time to diagnose the problem. One fork dust seal is split but I also have a replacement for that. Other than the few minor things noted above, I see no mechanical issues with the bike whatsoever. With an oil change and a basic check over, this could be a daily driver if that is what you want it for. Cosmetically the bike is very clean for its age. There is some surface rust on the chrome pieces and some of the hardware. The worst is in the normal spots - the chain guard, tail light bracket, headlight mounting ears, etc. The rims and spokes also have some minimal rust. There is light oxidation on some of the aluminum parts as well. The tank has a small dent/crease on the right side and some fading - please see pictures. The inside is clean. The front fender has a few crinkles at the leading edge. The rear is straight but has some chips and scratches. The seat is nice but has a few, small puncture type wounds in the cover. The side covers are in good condition and original with minimal fading and scrapes/scratches. As far as I can tell, the bike is all original right down to the handlebars, grips and levers with the exception of the mirrors which appear to be after market. This is not a fully restored show piece but it is a very nice, solid, original example of a cool, old, almost 40 year old bike! I have a clean and clear Michigan street legal title in my name for the bike. I can also provide anything else you may need for title transfer such as a bill of sale or notarized signature. I prefer local pick up but if you care to arrange the shipping, I will be happy to assist in any way I can. I also travel around Michigan and northern Indiana and Ohio for work so I may be able to deliver for a nominal fee. Please ask any questions before bidding. The bike is available for inspection, please email or call or text me at (616) 885-0920 for details or questions. I recently sold an SL125 that was in the same basic condition. Please search my feedback and see the positive remarks for that transaction. Thanks for looking and bidding!
