Vehicle Detail
1974 Plymouth Satellite Seabring- Survivor - 85K Original Miles NO RESERVE - 133 Photos!!! This is an amazing car, this is a 1 owner Plymouth Satellite Sebring. Extremely hard to find an original Survivor car in this condition, especially a Mopar daily driver. This car has been in the Willamette Valley all of its life, owned by a couple since it was new. Yes you are looking at an original car, Original paint, Original Interior, Original Engine compartment, numbers matching. I have owned a lot of cars, but there are only a handful that have been this original. This is an 85,182 mile car, I don't have written documentation, but when you see the pictures you will understand. There is a sticker on the radiator support, were it had the radiator flushed in 1999 at 73K miles, the rearend was serviced at 76K, oil change sticker 1996 with 72K. Anyways, study the pictures, this is a great car, and it runs and drives like a dream. It is has its flaws, and such, but it can only be original once. If I had lots of money, this is the type of cars I would collect. This car was mainly driven by one person, the wife, she loved this car, she is now 91 years old and unable to drive the last few years. She bought this car when she was around 52, adult owned all of its life. The body on this car is rust free, just amazing. The paint for its age has a nice shine, no dull spots or paint pealing, it looks good, I have not waxed it or done anything to it. I pulled the seats to find the buildsheets, so there is 3 with the car. Left the one in the rear seat. Decided to go ahead and pull up the carpet so you could see the floors, to my amazement, they are perfect, I expected nice, but not this nice, no surface rust, just original paint. Same in the trunk pulled the original trunk mat and a floor that any Mopar guy or car guy in general would find amazing. The body is very nice, there are no rust bubbles, there are no pinholes or blisters. The paint on this car is 95% original, the only paint work on the car is the passenger quarter panel in front around the wheel arch, and behind wheel, it has been blended in. Inside the quarter panel behind wheel, you can see 3 little spot welds from a stud gun, to pull out minor dents. It must have been a pretty small issue. So they blended the paint in, and it looks very good, this is an older repair, it would take someone who knows what they are looking at to even notice that it was done. The rest of the paint is original on the car, meaning, that this is the same paint on the car that was sprayed on it in 1974 at the Plymouth factory. All the door jams are original, inside trunk, engine etc. The body on the car is very straight. There are a couple light dings, on the lower body but pretty minor, ding guy could probably fix them. The paint is not perfect it is old, but it is in nice shape. The vinyl top is almost near perfect, no rips on top no bubbles. Only issue to the top is at the bottom below rear window, it has shrunk a little. There is a small dent on the passenger side rear valance, and on on the front valance. Who ever buys this car, should never paint it, it needs to stay exactly the way it is, maybe you could touch up a few things, but that is it. There are some small little scratches, and chips on the car from normal use, you can see them in the photos, a few have been touched up. The largest scratch is on the front fender. The rockers are amazing, no bubbles, all the seams are super clean. Overall if you want a very good clean original car this is it. The trim and chrome on the car are in great shape, a few dings, but darn few. The bumpers are in good shape as well. It also has its original windshield and glass in the car. Overall great car for being 40 years old. The interior again is original. The seats are in decent shape. The front seat, have some wear on the fabric on the drivers side, you may have to have this fix, because it is a little thin. The vinyl on this side, as well has some small cuts in it, from wear. The rear seat is near perfect. What is amazing as well is the Original carpet, I pulled it so you could see the floors and under the carpet, the padding is in good shape, the carpet is nice, this is not reproduction carpet it is original, still has these 2 gold color metal inserts in it, that I took a picture of, they don't put these on reproduction carpet, the floors tell the story. The seat belts are in excellent shape. The dash pad is in mint condition, the door panels same, perfect. The headliner perfect no rips or tears, the package tray, excellent. What does the interior need, the seat either recovered, or some sections fixed. The radio turns on but does not play. The gas gauge is not working. The AC is all hooked up but it is not turning on, it does not make any noise, it may just need to be recharged, and that is why it is not cycling. Everything else works in the interior, cig lighter works, though she was not a smoker. Overall a nice old car. Mechanically the car is in very good shape. It starts right up, it does not blow any smoke, or burn oil. The paint on the engine is original. The Plug wires are orange, I was going to put black ones on, but then I started looking at them, and they are Mopar stamped with GH 1-74. The Carb is original, the AC is original. Look at the items on the firewall, the cadmium plating is still on these components, some really clean some not, but overall this car has not been messed with under the hood. All the wires are intact, all the stickers are there. The engine is original, VIN is stamped on the passenger side VIN pad. Back to the engine, it starts right up, and just purrs. The exhaust is original, but she had the muffler replaced and the gas tank replaced some time back. Overall it drives like a dream, transmission shifts nicely, and you can cruise with ease. The rearend still has its factory tag, it is a 2:71 ratio, great for fuel mileage and low RPMs at 70mph. The brakes are all good, it stops very well. No unusual noises, everything seems to be in good working order for a driver. The tires are older, one does not match. Mechanically it it is good but it could use someone to just do some routine maintenance on it in the future, not right away, but as time goes. Underneath is just amazing as well, perfect floors, frame rails, all look great, behind the wheels, rockers, fenders are all rust free, I loaded up 133 photos, if you want some more send me your email and I can send you some. I so wanted to just put some Magnum 500's or Mopar Rallye wheels on it and some BFG's, that is all she needs, maybe some dual exhaust and keep all the original stuff, but every time I look at it, I love it the way it is so I held off. I will leave the Original car you, I hope you care for it as much as she did. I own this car outright. I have pictures of when I picked it up out of the garage, I will give you those photos as well to the winning bidder. Overall this is a nice little car that you can drive and enjoy, it is not a show car, just a good weekend cruis-in car, but you will win First Place at most car shows for most original in your class. If you are looking for a trailer queen, this is one that you can enjoy and do upgrades as you go. Please study the pictures, if you have questions please give me a call.
