Vehicle Detail
1961 Falcon Sedan Delivery Brock/Shelby GT350 Tribute NO RESERVE Thank you for viewing this rare little 1961 Falcon Sedan Delivery. These are not seen very often, very low production, with only 1,998 units ever produced in 1961. Compared to 32,045 - 2 door wagons, 87,933 - 4dr wagons. These are great little wagons, very useful even today for hauling, business advertising etc. In the mid 60's Pete Brock built a 1963 Falcon Delivery for Carroll Shelby in the GT350 theme, Wimbledon white, and guardsman blue Lemans stripes. Today that car is sitting in the Carroll Shelby American Museum on display along with some of his other cars. This car was built by a gentleman in the late 60's- early 70's who wanted to have one of his own after seeing the Shelby Falcon. This is a real Sedan Delivery, with Body Code 78A. I am auctioning this car at No Reserve, meaning that every bid, counts, top bidder will get it. I love to drive this car, it is just something very unique and rare, but it is time to turn it loose. The body on this car in good shape, very solid. The paint on it is very old, and has lots of patina. As far as I can tell the paint is from the early 70's, but hard to tell after all these years. There has been some areas that have been touched up and blended back in. There are several chips and scratches on the car. The paint looks great out in the sun light, you notice more issues under lights, and in the shade. Everyone loves to look at it at car shows, because first you do not see a Sedan Delivery that often, and 2nd how many Shelby Replicas have you seen, it is a unique and rare car. Overall, it is a good 20' car. from the distance the paint and body look good, but as you get closer you notice little chips, some of the body lines are not as crisp as they should be, there is some paint flaws in general on the car, paint crazing, etc. Overall, it would be great if someone wanted to drive this car the way it is, because it is very solid, clean interior, and the drivetrain is in excellent shape. There is some filler used on the car, mostly in the quarters. The undercarriage is in good shape, and rust free, frame rails all look good, with no issues, the front floors have been replaced, see photos. If someone wanted to take it a step further and have the bodywork done and repainted down the road, it would be a great thing to preserve this rare bird. With that said, please study the pictures, and read the auction, it should be able to answer most questions that you have. If you would like to give me a call, and discuss the car in general I would be glad to talk to you, I also have text and email as well, what ever you prefer. Mechanically this Falcon is in very good shape, it has an early 302 Ford V8 engine in it, and it just sounds great, has plenty of power. It has an original 1969 FORD stamped aluminum intake manifold, have not seen one of these for a long time C90X-9424-B, Cobra Valve covers, Shelby Monte Carlo bar, 4V Edelbrock 600cfm carb. It has also been outfitted in the 1990's, with Vintage Air, it does work, but it will need a new compressor soon, because it is noisy, I would not advise using it currently, but you can turn it on and hear it. One of the great things about this car, is the gentleman took a Top Loader 4spd, and put it behind the 302 engine. The Transmission is in very good condition, clutch feels great, and easy to drive, no issues with it going out of gear, synco's feel good, no issues with ujoints, no clunks etc. The car has Disc Brakes upfront, and drums in the rear. Also is set up with Power Steering, that works excellent. The radiator is a new Aluminum 4 core just installed. Overall mechanically, you could fly in, hit a couple of shows and drive it home, and make an adventure out of the trip. The tires are in very good shape, no cracking, they have I would say around 90% tread on them. I did find 2 stampings on the front Mustang Magnums 500's on the wheels that decode as 1972 wheels, so they are vintage as well. I did not find them on the rear 2, I could find a little bit of a stamping on one, but could not read it, the weight might have been hiding possibly. The exhaust, is in good shape, and sounds great, and staying with the Shelby side exhaust theme you would see on a R code. All the exterior lights are working on the car, turnsignals, brake lights, running lights, high beams, lic. plate light. (by the way the Oregon Lic. Plates do not go with the car, sorry). This is a very good little car, that someone will love to drive, once you get behind the wheel, it has its good and down sides, but once you get behind the wheel and start it up, you will be very happy, she sounds great. The interior is in decent shape. It has 1965 Ford Mustang Seats, on purpose, for the Shelby theme. It has a Roll bar, with Racing seat belts installed in it you could easily put normal lap belts in it if you wanted, easily. The carpet is in nice shape, with little wear. The dash pad is in good shape. The headliner is very nice, no tears or rips, very good. The inside rear panels are in good shape as well. The door panels are a black fiber board, and need to be replaced with regular falcon inserts, or make new ones out of aluminum or cover them etc. The arm rest are missing for the rear seat. Overall, the interior is in good shape for its age, it needs a few things here and there, but over all it is very useable. The Radio works, but it needs a new antenna, it is broken off, I still have it, and when you set it on the perch you can get the radio stations. All the interior lights are working, the dash lights are a little touchy, they do turn on, but you have to wiggle the light switch a little. The gauges are working, the Oil temp gauge not sure if it is working or not, but the oil pressure is good at 60psi at idle. It also has 3 other gauges below the dash, Vacuum, Temp Gauge (one in dash is unrealible), and the Volt gauge is working. Overall a nice interior, needs a small few details, but nothing major. Please read the auction, look at the pictures, give me a call or text me, would be glad to help you with questions before you bid. This is not a Show Car or Trailer Queen, this is a car that I would consider a nice driver, you will take it to shows in general, and you may when some best in class, because who else has one. Anyways, This is NO RESERVE AUCTION, meaning every bid counts, highest bid gets this bus. It does have Shelby caps, on the wheels, and Shelby Gas Cap, the mirrors are also vintage bullet mirrors.
