We are getting a lot of emails and calls on the Federal Tax Credit. This particular Chevy Volt was purchased from GM in Detroit MI directly. This Volt was not titled and the Tax Credit was not claimed by GM while it was in service. It was our understanding that the Tax Credit would be available on this car but have had customers relay to us that because it was 'used' for 5500 miles that it is not. I've also spoken to a potential customer who has 'researched' this topic and is adamant these demo Volt's do qualify for Tax Credit. We are not going to advise you either way. You must consult your tax preparer for their professional advise, or contact the IRS directly. We contacted the IRS ourselves and they were not clear on it, so started a case and contacted us back several days later. It was their ruling that if a vehicle was used as a 'demo', in that the vehicle was driven for the purpose of demonstration for potential sales, then it is eligible for Tax Credit. However, if the vehicle was used by one person as a Company Car for day to day business, than it is not eligible for the Tax Credit. We have no way of knowing how this vehicle was used.Bottom line is this. The $16000 discount on this Volt exceeds what a new Volt could be purchased for even with the $7500 tax credit (I know because we stock new Volt's here). This is a great deal on an awesome car.Please do not contact us with your $7500 Tax Credit question. Contact your Tax Preparer or the IRS. We are very sorry for the confusion but with all the newness in tax incentives for purchasing vehicles there seems to be some grey area. Thanks This is a 2011 Chevrolet Volt that was a company demo. This Volt is the Viridian Joule Tricoat color with graphite cloth and is equipped with Navigation. Lots of warranty left on the Volt, I cut and pasted the factory warranty description below. Original MSRP on this Volt was $42010 and because it is a demo with 5000 miles we are discounting it $16000 = sale price of $26010.
