Vehicle Detail
1971 Ford Sport Custom F250No Reserve This is a great truck, 1971 Ford F250 Sport Custom, Camper Special. This truck has been here in Oregon since new, and has always been maintained and used all of these years. Ford makes great trucks, and this one shows it. Hard to find a truck in this condition, because most people used them like work trucks because they were tough, but at the same time people would work them into the ground. This truck was babied most of its life. It has had 2 owners, last gentleman had it since 1984, so about 30 years. It is amazing this truck is 42 years old and in this condition. It has never been restored, just has been cared for and enjoyed. The interior is all original, floor mat is original, the seat is original. to the truck, and in excellent shape. The Green paint on the truck is original, the white was repainted about 20 years ago. The engine, was replaced in 1991, with a 1968 Ford 428 V4 engine. At that time the truck had 111,352 miles on it. The truck today has 132,834 on it, so if you do the math the engine has around 20K on it. It runs like a top, and is really powerful. It did have a Camper on it, and according to the 2nd owner it didn't even feel the weight, this truck is a brute. The transmission has a shift kit in it, and is stout. Mechanically a great truck, it is not a show truck by any means, but believe me, you will take it to shows and everyone will be looking at it, it is nice for its age and condition. I consider it a Survivor truck, yes it has an engine upgrade, and some paint, but this truck has survived all these years, someone is going to get a great truck that will last a long time if cared for. Please if you have any questions, give me a call, text or email me, I would be glad to help. There are lots of photos inside and out, so please study pictures, and read my text. Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085.The body on this truck is in great condition. It is factory 2 tone White and Green and just looks great together. The truck is a Camper Special, and has the Sport Custom Trim package on it, which really ties it all together. The paint is in good shape, you would not want to repaint it, it has a nice shine, and looks good. When you drive it around, everyone looks, because you do not see vintage trucks in this condition very often. The green is original, meaning it has not been repainted, and it does look good. There are a few dings on the truck, the ones to not, are the ones on the drivers side of the bed next to gas cap area, actually a paintless dent removal guy could probably work them out, and just paint touch up the chips. There is a 2 small dings on top of the roof edge. There are various small chips, and scratches on the truck, tried to take some pictures of a few, but overall there are not that many that stand out. The white was repainted on the truck 20 years ago, and still looks in good shape, there are a few chips and rub makes on the white, but nothing that really stands out, from a truck that has been driven. This is what I would call an excellent driver, but to good to park in a regular parking lot next to cars, you will want to park it way out in the parking lot. It has Ford glass in it, original front windshield stamping. The rear window was replaced with a slider. The chrome on the truck is in good shape, the side trim has a few dings, but they could be repaired overall trim is all complete and very useable. The grill area is in excellent shape. The rear bumper has been upgraded with a chrome bumper. Overall the exterior condition of the truck is in excellent shape, and looks nice. On the passenger side, along the bed seam, it has some surface bubbles under the sealant, you may want to address this down the road, pretty typical, has been like this for some time. All the exterior lights work, headlights, turn signals, brakes etc. It is wearing its original Oregon Lic. Plates from 1971 as well. What is amazing as well, that the Factory Stainless FoMoCo mirrors are still on the truck, so many times, people put different mirrors on and they have different holes, this truck is clean, these mirrors have never been off of it. Overall very nice truck. The bed has been used lightly, the slide marks on the inner wheel wells, is from a camper that slide in and out of it from time to time through the years. The undercarriage is in very good shape and very clean for a truck of this age. The inner door jams are all rust free, no issues, under the doors are very clean, light surface rust but nothing to worry about. The only rust issue I have found on the truck, is some under the battery tray, but that is easy enough to fix. A wheel did get loose in the drivers side rear wheel well long ago, and the had to straighten out the wheel well a little bit, and used some bondo on the wheel tub in the bed. If I kept the truck, I would probably clean the bed up a little and put a spray in bed liner in it, very clean bed overall. For folks who live in the East, you will love this truck, we do not salt the roads here in Oregon, and we have cool summers, which makes for very nice vehicles from here in the west. The interior is original to the truck. The seat is original, you will see some close ups, and this is the original material. I did have one section repaired, there was a typical tear were you get in and out on the drivers side that wears the material, in the dark green area. I took it to my upholstery guy, and we used material off the front skirt, and replaced that section so it would be original, and match perfectly, I had the skirt replaced, you would pretty much never know it unless you were laying on the floor for some reason. Other then that the interior is in very nice shape, the original floor mat is amazing, little wear, but no holes no rips. The dash pad is actually nice, besides the speaker hole area is bad, like usual. A small grill off of a early ford truck, or falcon, would cover it nicely, no reason to replace dash, because it is very nice besides that. The door panels, excellent. The headliner, is excellent. The radio even works well, cig lighter works. The only thing not working is the oil gauge, but they wanted a more reliable pressure gauge so they un hooked the other one and put one under the dash. The drivetrain in this truck is in very good condition. The engine is a 1968 428 4v engine, and it runs great, it was rebuilt in 1991, but it only has 20K on it since then. The paint on the engine could use some detail, but for a driver it looks good. The FoMoCo chrome valve covers look good, the air cleaner has been repainted, and has a Ford Chrome Air Cleaner, off of a 1971 M code Mustang, with 428 sticker, looks nice together. The engine starts right up, likes to be warmed up before you go out in drive it, it does not burn any oil, and does no blow any smoke. Have not noticed any oil leaks, but I can see some seeping around bottom pan, but nothing really major. There are few drips off the steering box, but again, nothing were I think it is a concern. The engine has lots of power, it is a work horse, has a RV cam in it. Has dual exhaust, with Turbo mufflers, on muffler has a small hole in the corner, but when running there is no exhaust leak sound. It does have Power Brakes and Power Steering which is a nice with a truck like this. The transmission has a shift kit in it, so it does wind up a bit in first gear before the C6 shifts, transmission shifts nice and smooth no issues with it. Overall like I have mentioned it is a great running truck. The tires are TOYO, and have around 2500 miles miles on them, they were installed some time ago, but look in excellent shape no cracks. The wheels are in nice shape a well and look good and match the truck well I think. Overall, you could fly in and drive this home if you like. Heater works good as well, has new heater core in it. Please read this auction 2-3 times over, this is not a trailer queen, it was built to use and enjoy.
