1987 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia T3 Westy Full Camper Wagon This has been our daily driver since December. We bought it from a person who had put a lot of time and money into it. Including repairing some rust spots, installing a new custom made carpet, and re-upholstering all the seats and door panels with high quality materials. The van is complete. I removed the pop top canvas to clean it since it was stained but not ripped. I could not get the stains out and it is now in a bag. It is still usable and it has three windows and screen. Anything that you see missing is actually in a large box with lots of new and used parts that would be included in the sale. This includes all the curtains, rear door screen, emblems, new chrome exhaust refrigerator vent with gasket, new upper ball joints, and lots of other parts, and other spare parts. Includes owner's manuals and Bentley Manual as well. The Automatic transmission and the original 2.1 WBX engine were rebuilt about 4 years ago with new AMC heads. A new water pump, new thermostat and a new radiator with new radiator fan switch were installed about two months ago. Cooling system filled with new phosphate free antifreeze/coolant. Also new rear brake shoes and brake cylinders as well as new front pads were installed about 4 months ago. The van has four new 8-ply 195R14 VAN/TRUCK tires by NEXEN, I believe they inflate from 50 to 65 psi. They are reinforced tires designed to handle the Westy’s weight and makes the van sit a bit higher. Matching New spare, original jack, and lug wrench included. The inside of the Westy is in excellent conditions with only some minor issues that are easily fixed. The three-way refrigerator is clean but I have not tested it to see if it works. The two burner cook top looks as if it was never used. The fresh water pump works well as well as the faucet in the sink. The A/C does not work but everything is there. The van also has a new propane tank installed. Top bed in excellent conditions. Front table is missing but all the pieces of the holding bracket are included. The van rides very nice and gets an average of 17 MPG. The Westy does have some dents and a few rust spots you will see in the pictures. Comes with CD Player AM AF Radio with four upgraded Pioneer speakers. Upgraded side view mirrors so you no longer have to worry about skinny mirrors that flap all over when driving.
