Odometer: Currently 2609 miles You want to be the king of the road? You want to feel and drive one of the fastest Carroll Shelby iconic road rockets ever built? You want to be the one who gets all the looks and head swivels when driving this magnificently engineered masterpiece? You want to feel like you are entering a special compartment of your life that will set you free of all woes, when you open the door; you smell the scent of new leather and once you sit in the seat, turn the key to on you are see all the colored lights and gauges come to life; hearing; and feeling the fuel flow and electronics feeding the superbly engineered 5.4 liter dual over head cam 725 horse power engine; you crank the engine to start and vrooooom, you feel like you are in a Space Shuttle cockpit ready to launch you to the stratosphere? If you answered yes to all the questions, then this is the kind of Muscle Car you want to invest in. I am not exaggerating one bit about what I feel when I enter this wonderful car built and signed by Carroll Shelby himself. It is truly almost like an out of body experience. This modern Muscle Car is a true work of Carroll Shelby art! To sweeten the buy of this car, a Carroll “Shelby Cruiser” Felt Bicycle is included (never used! see pic). Felt and Carroll Shelby Licensing teamed up to design and develop a cruiser that pays homage to the iconic Shelby image. The Shelby Cruiser is a limited edition bike that exudes the Shelby image and culture. Designers drew upon the wealth of Shelby racing traditions when developing the design and graphic scheme. The bike features the legendary Wimbledon White and Guardsman Blue paint scheme that adorned many of Shelby’s vintage cars, including the famed GT350. Each of the limited edition bicycles is individually badged and serial numbered to ensure authenticity. This car is so virgin, the factory NAV CD still sealed in the package has never been installed. The factory car manuals are still in the original plastic wrappers. One set of keys has never been used. All plastic seat covers come with the car. Most of the interior plastic has been left in place inside the car. The car also comes with a Carroll Shelby signed dash pad (needs to be installed and the signature was done by the Carroll Shelby Foundation that owns the rights to Mr. Shelby's signature. The 427 NASCAR aluminum logo was signed by Mr. Shelby himself and has never been mounted. Buying a new modern Muscle Car has a definite advantage over old Muscle Cars for several reasons. I have owned many older thoroughbred Muscle cars. LS6, Super Bird, RA IV Judge, Judge convertible, etc. Buying a modern Muscle Car is your best option for investment and resale. Senior people like me are dying off thus the gene pool is diminishing for resale potential. This car appeals to the younger generation more than the older generation. The gene pool of young people is far greater for resale. The younger generation grew up in cars with all the modern day options; all power accessories. I get more compliments and head swivels from the younger crowd than the senior folks like me. It's like their is a bias from the older crowd that frowns upon the modern day Muscle car. NOS Parts are easily available / easier to buy; practically maintenance free; all power options; decent gas mileage (I get 18 MPG around town if I stay off the throttle). Original signature car signed by the legend himself, Mr. Carroll Shelby, is this rare 2008 Shelby GT500 Special Edition 427 NASCAR Super Snake, 1 of 202 427 NASCAR Super Snakes ever built; 1 of 10 in beautiful Vista blue. Carroll Shelby had scheduled to build "427" 427 NASCAR factory Super Snakes, but the economy kept the production number from happening, so the car is even more rare and unique than the base Super Snake package cars. This car has three complete packages: 1. The factory Ford Shelby GT500 package (this car has every factory option that was available in 2008). 2. The Carroll Shelby base 725 horse power Super Snake package. 3. The Special Edition 427 NASCAR Super Snake package. Try to build a car like this today at the “Carroll Shelby factory” and the cost would be well over the $115K I have invested in this car. And you can't buy the Special Edition 427 NASCAR Super Snake ever again. This car is SUPER fast. You will be amazed at the power from this incredible machine. No mechanical issues ever. The Special Edition 427 NASCAR Super Snakes will never be built again. No problems with the car with a few following exceptions. Exchanged the tire and wheel through the Shelby Las Vegas factory (apparently the rim has a small crack allowing air to escape). The windshield was replaced (I have the original) because of a rock that cracked the windshield. The front spoiler was replaced (original was scraped and I have the original in a box). Other than those three items, the car is totally original. I have all the plastic seat wrappers and covers. The original rims and tires have 18 miles on them. Never driven in the winter or rained on; has been washed only five times. This car started out as an 18 mile brand new Ford Shelby GT500 when transported to Carroll Shelby's factory in Las Vegas, that increases the value because all of the parts taken off the base car prior to the transformation into a Super Snake are factory new; all of those new parts come with the car; the value of the parts taken off the car I would estimate are worth $3-$5K depending on how you sell them if you choose to do so. I would keep all the original parts to the car, however. You will be hard pressed to find a documented car such as this one and that alone increases the value and prominence of this car. This car has every form of documentation since day one. I have retained every hand written note, e-mail, etc., from the dealership owner who sold me this car, every e-mail from the carrier company who I hired to ship the car and bring it back. I have every e-mail from the Las Vegas folks on the progress of my Snake. I have every letter from Ford regarding my car. I have every brochure for 2008 for the Super Snake. I have every letter from Ford since I bought this car. I have every gasoline receipt. The archive for this car is VERY extensive. To buy a base 2008 GT500 with every option available, then send the car to Carroll Shelby’s factory for the Super Snake transformation, and that doesn't account for the rare 427 NASCAR option (that cost was $6K alone), you're over $115K for this car. I knew from a collector standpoint and break-in standpoint, Super Snaking the car when brand new was the best way to proceed. I have never had any problems with the mechanics of this car. The first 500 miles were babied. And this car has never been raced. The Super Snake comes with all the base Shelby GT500 parts that were removed to transform the car into the Special Edition 427 NASCAR Super Snake. I even have the original factory oil filter and the Ford plastic quart oil containers from the first oil change at 500 miles. And this car is # 215 Super Snake and # 215 427 NASCAR Super Snake! According to Shelby Registration, only 20 of the 202 427 NASCAR Super Snakes have the same Super Snake and 427 build number. Only 869 stock Vista Blue GT500s were built in 2008. Plus, all the Super Snake and 427NASCAR memorabilia that comes with this car is extraordinary. You will need a two car garage just to display the car and all of the artifacts that come with this car. There are other Super Snakes (not 427s) out there from $95K to $200K, so that gives you an idea of the price range. With only 2609 miles and always garaged and covered, this car is NEW! It has all of the standard items plus numerous upgrades from the Super Snake and 427 NASCAR package. The 427 NASCAR package adds special 427 striping, special Carroll Shelby signature items; interior 427 logos on the head rests, seats, 427 NASCAR door sills, etc. So, you get all the base Super Snake headrests, door sills, plates, carpets, AND all the Special Edition 427 NASCAR items installed on the car. 725 horse power Super Snake package and Special Edition 427 NASCAR Super Snake package - 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 base car fully loaded - Base 725 horse power Super Snake package - Special Edition 427 NASCAR Super Snake package - #215 Super Snake package number - #215 built of only 202 built (427 were scheduled to be built; economy impacted production numbers) - Special edition - 2609 miles - 427 Super Snake badges - Super Snake badges - Kenne Bell supercharger - 6-speed Ford Racing short throw shifter - Borla Performance exhaust - Ford Racing suspension - Engine derss up kit - Shelby Alcoa 20" forged wheels with Super Snake center caps - Bear 6 piston front brakes with vented rotors - Classic Shelby hood with functional scoops - New center cluster gauges with Shelby signature - 427 logo signed by Carroll Shelby - Navigation system - Shaker 500 stereo system with CD changer - Always garaged Base factory Shelby GT500 options. - Every option available for that year On Mar-22-13 at 19:03:01 PDT, seller added the following information: There are other Super Snakes (not 427s) out there from $95K to $200K, so that gives you an idea of the price range.
