If you are the kind of customer that likes these square body chevrolet trucks with the 350 engine and 4X4 and needs it to be in great shape and have low mileage, then here is that needle in a haystack. It’s my 1997 extended cab 1500 short bed 5.7 Vortec 4X4 truck with only 69,000 original miles and it’s in excellent shape and probably the only one like it ordered with a Factory Original Sherrod package. I have all the original documentation on this vehicle, it cost $31,968 back in 1997. Read on for a full description. Mechanically this truck is quality through and through. 350 V8 starts up great with no smoke or funny noises. No blow by when warm. Good power and torque throughout the RPM range. It was just through PA State inspection and emissions test at the GM dealer here in Lancaster and while it was there it had a synthetic oil change performed. So the truck is ready to go for the new owner. Brakes, tie rods, exhaust all above par. Tires are all matching with about 70% tread. Undercarriage is clean and nice, it has a few brown spots but no rust. Floors, inner rocker panels, cab and bed mounts are all rust free. Drives and tracks very well even at highway speeds. I spent an afternoon driving this truck around and it is all that you would expect out of a 60K mile Chevy Truck, pure joy. Cosmetically it is the same way, very nice. It’s honestly hard to believe this truck is 16 years old! Paint shines very well, no dents, dings, scratches or damage anywhere. Absolutely no rot or rust on this truck. I checked everywhere, under the doors, under the tailgate, cab corners around fenders and couldn’t find a speck. Has a Lund visor and ARE cap. The only possible items that you could flaw the truck for are the alloy wheels are looking there clear starting around the center cap and the body dress up kit is a touch faded. If you would take care of those two things the truck would be a perfect 10. The rest of the moldings and trim are all perfect. Glass is all clean and scratch and chip free. The interior is absolutely flawless. Smells clean inside. Carpets, headliner, seats are all like it just came out of the factory. In all my years I’ve never seen an older Chevy truck look this good inside. All power options are working well including power windows and locks, radio, Air condition is ice cold and the heat is hot. The cap has never been off and the bed has never hauled any thing with sharp edges on it because the bed has not one scratch inside it, please take a look at the picture and be amazed like I was when I opened the tailgate on this truck for the first time.
