Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1964 Chevy II Nova 400. It has the 194 In Line Six Cylinder Engine and manual transmission (Three On The Tree). I bought this car on October 2008 on Ebay from a very nice gentleman from Peoria, Illinois with 16,047 original miles on the odometer and had it shipped to Texas. She currently has 17,660 miles. As you can see I've put less than 2,000 miles in more than four years. The previous owner bought it from the original owners with 12,000 miles after more than 40 years of storage and still had the factory original bias tires at that point (I have pictures of the car with the original dry rotted tires that I can Email to interested persons). The previous owner put around 4,000 miles during his ownership and then he sold it to me. The car spent it's entire life in Galena, Illinois until December 2007, then went to Peoria, Illinois until October of 2008 when I had her shipped to Texas. Car is currently located in Laredo, Texas. That's all I know about the car's history, wish I knew more about it... Car is registered and insured under my name. The car is in incredible original condition. Everything is original including paint, interior, engine and transmission, brakes, spark plug wires, spare tire, shock absorbers etc. Everything works like new including Lights, Gauges, Wipers, Horn etc. I don't have any documentation to prove that the mileage is original, but the condition speaks by itself. I'll try to describe it the best I can, if I miss something or you need additional information, please ask. INTERIOR:The interior is MINT, MINT, MINT... in incredible condition. The original seats don't even show normal wear, they are like new. It has seatbelts with retractors. The dash, chrome trim, gauges, steering wheel, they're all perfect. There's not a single crack on the steering wheel. Carpet is near mint with only minor wear near the accelerator pedal. Door panels are perfect. The headliner is almost perfect with some light staining that I have never tried to clean. In my opinion the interior is PERFECT. I've only seen three or four 1962-1964 Novas during the last three years in this condition on Ebay or other websites.Over the last three years I spent a lot of time and money locating NOS accesories for her. The car comes with the following interior accesories:NOS Radio (the whole radio kit in the original box that included the radio, speaker, face plate, knobs, wires, brakets, nuts, bolts etc,etc...even the fuse) that costed over $500.00NOS Antenna AssemblyNOS Electric Clock that keeps perfect timeNOS Emergency Brake Warning Light (still has the flashing bulb)NOS Flarestat Flasher (looks & works perfectly)NOS Under Dash Courtesy LampsNOS Front and Rear Rubber Floor Mats**I still have the original boxes for all the accesories listed above** EXTERIORThe exterior is in great condition also. The paint is all original. There are a couple of touch ups above the headlights but it looks excellent overall. The right front fender have some rust at the bottom as shown in photos, the left fender has some very minimal rust. The front bumper filler has some surface rust as well, other than that the rest of the car is super solid and rust free including floors, doors and trunk. The Nova was undercoated when it was new and protected her from rust all this years. Exterior trim and chrome are almost perfect except for the right rear moulding. During shipping to Texas the car suffered a small dent in the right quarter panel and the chrome moulding was damaged. A set of brand new (aftermarket) left & right cove mouldings will be included to the new owner, if the car is sold. The front bumper has a small kink. There's also a couple small dents on the roof from things being stored on top of the car during it's long hibernation in the prior owner's garage that can be removed by a paintless dent repair service, but I don't want to disturb the original headliners to fix it and besides is a very small thing. All the glass is PERFECT. There's no chips, cracks or anything in the windshield. Inside the trunk is the original spare tire, lug wrench and the original jack that was restored (sandblasted & painted) and looks new and works perfect. Overall the exterior look super nice. Once again, please, look at the pictures and ask questions if you have any. During the last year I installed:NOS Door Edge Chrome MouldingsNOS ANCO "Red Dot" WipersNOS Rear Bumper GuardsENGINEThe original 194 In Line 6 cylinder runs very strong. No trouble doing 70 down the interstate. Steers, brakes and handles nicely. Tires are almost new. I replaced the push rod valve covers and the valve cover gaskets since they were leaking. Engine was super clean inside, can Email pictures if interested. It still leaks a little oil, but I never got to it. I just have a flat box in the floor and that takes care of the oil. I do have a new oil pan gasket set in the trunk that will be included. Car does not overheat or leaks coolant. Original carburetor was replaced (I still have the original carburetor) with an original Rochester NOS carburetor exact to the original one that came in the original box with the info tag still attached and car runs awesome without any problems. It makes the 38 mile round trip to work at 70 mph flawlessly. Shock Absorbers are the originals that came with the car in 1964 and should be replaced in a near future since they feel a little spongy. Heater works better than my 2006 Lincoln Town Car.I only use this car during sunny days or when there's low or no traffic (like weekends or holidays). The rest of the time is stored inside my garage not only away from the elements but in the dark. The front seat has a seat cover that was removed for the pictures and the backseat is covered with towels. I wash it every six months more or less and is left outside that day so it dries completely. When I use it to go to work or to go out with my wife I always park it far away from other cars to avoid dents & dings.I have a very nice set of 13x5 original steel wheels, NOS original hubcaps and four Brand New Never Installed Milestar P175/80R13 whitewall tires that will be included (will be shipped at new owner's expense) if the car is sold. I was planning on painting the wheels the same color of the car and installing the whitewalls. Car is running on the original 14x5 wheels and dog dish hubcaps.I also have all books and booklets available for 1964 including Owner's Manual, Warranty Booklet, Dealer Sales Brochure, Shop Manuals (1962 & 1964 Supplement) and some other literature.I tried to put as much informations as possible (good & bad) but if I forgot something, please ask. I'll respond honestly and as soon as I can. I only use Ebay Messages since I like to have everything documented. I'm an Ebay Buyer and Seller and an honest and serious person (check my feedbacks). Please, keep in mind that these auctions cost time and money, so if you are not interested in the car, do not have the funds to pay for it, or have doubts about the car or myself, please don't bid on the car and don't waste your time and make me waste mine either. I DON'T RESPOND TO MESSAGES AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS AND PLEASE, DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST DAY TO REQUEST PICTURES. I have lots of pictures that I can email to interested persons so you can decide if you want the car or not. The reason why I'm selling my car is because I rarely use it and with work I have less time to enjoy my cars.I speak English and Spanish and if you live in Texas and want to see or test the car you are more than welcome to do so, but with work you'll have to stick to my schedule. With that being said, thank you for taking the time to look at my car and hope you enjoy the pictures. On Mar-20-13 at 08:58:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Answers to questions: 1-The only rust issue that the car has is the rust shown on the right fender. Doors, quarter panels, trunk and floors are rust free. 2-The radio works perfectly. The car had no radio and I have the original radio delete face plate and will be included. 3-The mileage is original. I do have pictures of the car with the original bias tires that I can Email. Interior is Mint and the outside chrome trim is free of dents (one or two small dents) and is in excellent condition. 4-The firewall tag is attached and I have it decoded. I can Email pictures of the tag and what each code means.
