Vehicle Detail

'70 1/2 Camaro '70 1/2 Camaro One Family Original Survivor Not restored, this is a clean original survivor. Fun to drive, dependable and well handling. The original numbers matching 307 V8 was professionally rebuilt in 1994 (117,000 miles). Painted and upholstered 19 years ago with the original colors. It's a great example of the rare limited production first year of the second-generation Camaros referred to as "70 1/2". Built in Van Nuys, my dad bought it new from Lamb Chevrolet in National City (San Diego). I drove it to my high school prom in 1972 and then bought it from him in 1981. What you see is what you get. You won't be diappointed. photo 2 photo 1 photo 10 photo 11 photo 13 photo 14 photo 15 photo 16 photo 17 photo 20 photo 21 photo 23 photo 24 photo 25 photo 26 photo 27 photo 28 photo 29 photo 30 photo 31 photo 32 photo 33 photo 34 photo 35 photo 37 photo 38 photo 39 photo 40 photo 41 photo 42 photo 45 photo 46 photo 47 photo 49 photo 50 photo 51 photo 54 photo 55 photo 56 photo 57 photo 58 photo 59 photo 60 photo 61 photo 62 photo 12 Description 146,500 miles Original 307 cu in V8 Classic White/DkGrn Original License Plates Factory Build Sheet Protect-o-plate, New Car Warranty 1st Registration Card “pink” slip and more.. You are bidding on a a clean one family original survivor California car. Built in Van Nuys, my father bought it new from Lamb Chevrolet in National City (San Diego) and I bought it from him in 1981. It has been garaged and cared for lovingly ever since. Not restored or hot-rodded this classic has been kept up, driven and enjoyed as a fun, dependable and well handling daily driver. The original numbers matching 307 cubic-inch V8 was professionally rebuilt in 1994 (117,000 miles) . I added the "stealth" Pertronix Ignitor to replace the orignial breaker points and a stock looking Flamethrower coil and wires for a maintenance free electronic ignition system that is nearly undetectable. The car has been well maintained over the years and was recently shop inspected in preparation for this sale receiving a new transmission filter, cover gasket, water pump and new belts. This classic is ready drive and enjoy. The car was painted and upholstered 19 years ago using the original colors with a slight and subtle green pearl flake added in the clear coat. The upholstery was upgraded from vinyl to fabric, keeping the original stiching patterns and details. After almost 20 years, the "new" paint and upholstery still look great with only some minor rust spots beginning to appear at the front quarter rockers. I haven’t attempted to repair these spots, even though it would be easy, because I want to accurately show the great as-is condition of the unrestored car which is essentially rust free. Please see the pictures of quarter panels, trunk, rear window and under carriage. Sadly the windshield picked up a small stone crack on the lower driver’s side a few years ago but it hasn't grown in four years and the glass is otherwise in great condition. This is a great looking survivor you won’t be disappointed. I have personally driven and cared for this car for the last 40 years and can tell you it still draws attention and positive comments every time its driven. With only 124,901 produced, the 1970 Camaros are the most collectable second generation cars and this one is a solid unmolested survior for which there are few comparables. The sale includes many original documents, including: the new car warranty “Protect-O-Plate”, the build sheet from Van Nuys, the original glove box maintenance folder from Lamb Chevrolet with the first registration card, receipts, owner’s manual and other documents from 1970, manuals and car cover.
