Hello, I recently got this very nice 1971 Tiger on trade. I am currently opening a business and need cash for that, so that is why Im selling it. If not for that I would keep this beauty. The bike has history. It was sold in the US new, and shipped back to the UK in the late 80's. In the mid 90's it was completely torn down and rebuilt. The engine was put back to factory specs, frame was powdercoated, and repainted 1978 Triumph colors of red and black. The bike was used for shows in the UK and was featured in CBG (Classic Bike Guide) magazine in May of 99. There is a pretty large article on the bike that goes into detail on its pre-UK history in the US, what was done to the bike on the rebuild ect... I have the original vin inspection from when it was shipped back to the states, the name on the inspection matches the name in the magazine. There is a pic of the motor in the mag that you can read the vin on. I guarantee it is the exact bike from the magazine. The inspection was dated Aug of 99 and the mileage reads 14969. It is now at 17,093. This is a lightly used, very clean, numbers matching bike that starts 1st kick everytime. The photos are from today, its about 20 degrees out and it started right up. I rode it around town yesterday and everything works as it should, it runs flawlessly and needs nothing but a rider. It has an electronic ignition, and new battery. It was completely rewired when it was rebuilt. It still has the factory tool pouch under the seat. The bike will come as pictured, with a clean title, the original vin inspection from when it was shipped back to the US, and the original owners manual. The bike is very nice, with minimal blemishes. It has one small dent in the tank as pictured. I believe with around 500 dollars invested, this bike could be show quality.
