THIS IS A VERY SOLID 1957 CHEVY 4 X4 THAT RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT THE OLD GIRL HAS GREAT BONES AND WOULD BE A GREAT CANIDATE FOR A FULL RESTORE OR YOU COULD DRIVE IT AS SHE SITS AND WORK ON HER A LITTLE AT A TIME. I BELIEVE THIS IS A FACTORY 4X4 NAPCO,BUT I DONT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT THEM TO BE 100% SURE. I RAN THE VIN NUMBERS ON THE FRAME AND CAB AND THEY BOTH MATCH(3A57W109199) BUT IT DIDNT TELL ME IF IT WAS FACTORY 4 WHEEL DRIVE. IT DOES HAVE THE PLATE ON THE DASH SHOWING HOW TO PUT THE TRUCK INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE(SEE PIC),AND IT LOOKS AS OLD AS THE TRUCK DOES,DOESNT LOOK AS IF WAS ADDED LOOKS FACTORY TO ME. I THINK THIS OLD CHEVY STARTED OUT AS A UTILITY SERVICE TRUCK FOR PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC CO (PG&E) UP HERE IN THE FOOTHILLS AS U NEED 4 WHEEL DRIVE UP HERE. AND SOMEONE SAVED IT FROM THE CRUSHER. THIS IS WHAT I DO KNOW ABOUT THE TRUCK WHEN I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH. ORIGINAL 3100 SHORTBED...ORIGINALLY CAME WITH A 6 CYLINDER...ORIGINAL 4 SPD TRUCK WITH GRANNY LOW . NOW STEP AHEAD 50 YRS...IT NOW HAS BEEN UPGRADED WITH A CHEVROLET SMALL BLOCK V8...AND HEADERS,FLOWMASTERS...HEI. IGNITION,ELEBROCK INTAKE,CHROME UPGRADED FUEL PUMP,HOLLEY CARB., CHROME VALVE COVERS,MOROSO AIR CLEANER,AND A NICE ALUM. RADIATOR. ALSO A BRAND NEW BATTERY (12 VOLT) AND BATTERY TRAY. NEW FUEL TANK AND SENDING UNIT IN CAB. UPDATED SEAT THAT HAS A SPLIT BACK SO YOU CAN GET BEHIND SEAT. IT ALSO HAS NEW UPGRADED 3/4 TON AXLES FRONT AND REAR 8 LUG WITH DISC BRAKES,THEY LOOK TO HAVE VERY FEW MILES ON THEM.(SEE PICS) AND A 205 TRANSFER CASE. AND LOCKING HUBS ALSO THE FRONT DRIVE LINE IS UNDER THE SEAT,IT WONT BOLT UP DO TO THE EXHAUST IN THE WAY ALSO UPGRADED MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE LINES ALSO NEW REAR SHOCKS FRONT LOOK OLD AND ORIGINAL STYLE. NICE ALUM 8 LUG WHEELS WITH NEW LUG NUTS.TIRES ARE OLD AND STARTING TO WEATHER CRACK. INTERIOR... .PRETTY BASIC.UPDATED SEAT.. DASH IS UNCUT AND ORIGINAL. DASH GUAGES ALL WORK. DASH LIGHTS ALSO WORK. DASH TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS ALSO WORK . FRONT TURN SIGNALS WORK BUT REAR DO NOT ALSO HAS THE HEATER OPTION AND ELECTRIC WINDSHIELD WIPERS. WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR ON DRIVERS SIDE YOU CAN SEE A FEW LITTLE SPOTS OF RUST THRU (SEE PICS) ITS NOTHING MAJOR BUT I WANTED TO POINT IT OUT,IT IS VERY SLOID WHEN YOU STEP UP INTO THE TRUCK.AND IM NOT A SMALL GUY. ALSO THE FLOOR ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE HAS A COPULE OF SMALL RUST THRU SPOTS ANOUT THE SIZE OF A PENCIL TIP YOU CAN JUST START TO SEE LIGHT THRU IN A FEW SPOTS(SEE PICS) CAB CORNERS LOOK AS IF THEY HAVE BEEN WORKED ON BUT TO WHAT EXTENT I HAVE NO IDEA. THE TRUCK HAS A LIGHT COAT OF GREY PRIMER ON IT OVER THE FACTORY TAN AND BROWN (PG&E COLORS) TO KEEP IT FROM RUSTING I DID NOT DO THIS IT WAS THIS WAY WHEN I GOT THE TRUCK MOTOR HAS GREAT OIL PRESSURE,AND STARTS RIGHT UP NO ISSUES.(THE CARB SEEMS TO BE RUNNING A LITTLE FAT) AND SHOULD BE DIALED IN OR REBUILT OR REPLACED..I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOLLEY CARBS.,IF I KEPT IT I WOULD BOLT UP A NEW EDELBROCK CARB AND BE DONE WITH IT. EXTERIOR.. BODY LOOKS SUPRISING STRAIGHT IT HAS HAD SOME WORK DONE TO IT OVER THE YRS.BUT COULD STAND MORE IN SOME PLACES(SEE PICS) THE BED RAILS ARE NICE...THE TAIL GATE IS ALSO ORIGINAL AND IN SUPRISING SHAPE THE BED WOOD IS GONE AND HAS A PIECE OF 3/4" PLYWOOD IN THE FLOOR IT WORKS.... THE FENDERS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE I CANT FIND ANY REAL RUST EXCEPT FOR THE RUST I POINTED OUT ALREADY AND A FEW PICS OF THE BED SIDES WHERE IT MEETS THE STEP.(SEE PICS) THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IS OLD AND STARTING TO DELAMINATE AROUND THE EDGES BUT NO CRACKS AND ITS CLEAR. THE CAB LOOKS PRETTY GOOD INSIDE AND OUT BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT HAS BEEN DONE AS FAR AS BODY WOK OR RUST REPAIR PRIOR TO ME OWNING THE TRUCK. IT LOOKS AS IF IT HAS A ANTENNA MOUNTED IN THE ROOF AT 1 TIME AND A CAB MOUNT RADIO ATTENA AT REAR ABOVE THE REAR WINDOW(IM GUESSING A PG&E CO.RADIO WAS IN THE TRUCK AT ONE TIME) ALSO BOX OF NEW PARTS. 1.NEW WINDSHIELD GASKETS 2.NEW DOOR WEATHER STRIPPING RUBBERS 3.NEW WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM 4.NEW WING WINDOW RUBBERS **I DO NOT HAVE THE FENDER EMBLEMS THAT SAY 3100 OR THE FRONT HOOD EMBLEM*** BUT THEY ARE AVALIBLE AFTERMARKET.
