THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION! We just took this Triumph TR-6 in on trade, and it is time for it to have a new home! The car is best described as a clean, nice looking driver. She goes well and is mechanically sorted, but cosmetically does have some shortcomings. On the flip side, 1970 is arguably the best year for the TR6 and it is getting VERY difficult to find nice examples with wire wheels–which this one does have. So, without further ado: The car currently shows 22,000 miles, which is not believed to be accurate. This TR6 is a turn-key driver mechanically speaking. When we got her in she went straight to the mechanic who did a check-up, fixed a few small things, and gave her a clean bill of health. The paint on the car is a deep, shiny red, but has some imperfections in it. A 3 footer. The interior, is clean and believed to be original, although there are a few rips in the seat covers that would need to either be mended or replaced. The top is on the car, but should be replaced as it has aged rather poorly. The rear window has a crack in it from brittle plastic and the top has shrunk over time, making it a poor fit. We looked it up and a new top should run you around $350 from Moss. The car has a full tonneau cover (pictured). Again, on the plus side, the car is rust free underneath. The frame looks really nice and solid. Mechanically the car shifts nicely and brakes well. The wire wheels are fitted with correct red-line tires. The transmission was rebuilt about a year ago. The bottom line on this car is that it is a great driver. A superb investment for someone looking for a car they can take out and enjoy this summer and for many summers in the future. There is lots of value to be added by doing a few small cosmetic updates. At the end of the day it is a great driving TR6. It is the right year and it is rust free.
