Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a third owner 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. CLEAR TITLE. Approximately 115K miles. Selling for a friend. Beautiful condition, well maintained, garage kept NC car it's entire life. New transmission installed at 106K. I HAVE ALL RECEIPTS OVER $8500, DATING FROM 1996. Lots of new stuff. The paint on the cowl and deck lid is faded with clear coming off. The hood has some light hazing but I cannot make it show up in pictures as it is not that bad. The back window came un-stitched from the top, but I have it and it is in great shape, just needs to be reattached. Top is in good condition otherwise. Overall this is a great car with some cosmetic paint touch up needed to make it a stunner. Engine runs fantastic, shifts well, NO SECOND GEAR CRUNCH DUE TO NEW TRANSMISSION. All electrical working except clock(has a mind of it's own), trunk lights(like most of this era, they are not functioning). A/C has been converted to 134 but does need a recharge. It is recharged once a summer and works fine. Speedometer cluster was replaced at 109K and about 6K miles has been logged since. LINK TO TONS OF PHOTOS AND VIDEO AT BOTTOM OF LISTING. Here are the details: ENGINE: Compression is 130-130-130-130 WARM, front to rear. NEW: Radiator, Oil Sending Unit, Thermostat and Housing, Alternator, O2 Sensor, Center Exhaust, Spark Plugs, Distributor Cap and Rotor and K&N Cold Air Intake from International Auto Parts. Runs great, holds temperature, starts every time, no issues, no leaks that I have found. TRANSMISSION: NEW Transmission installed at 106K along with New Clutch, Release Bearing, Release Fork Front Spring and Transmission Mount and Flex Joint. NEW Rear Axle seals at 113K. NEW Driveshaft Support and Bearing installed last week. Shifts great. There is some seepage at the rear transmission seal. CHASSIS: Solid as can be!!! No rust. New Tires (Nitto 460) 195/60-14 at 114K. Drives well, handles well. Front tie rods and ball joints could stand to be replaced down the road. Brakes work great. INTERIOR: Very nice, no issues. See photos. There is one very small spot about the size of a dime on the back of the driver seat that could easily be glued back into place(see photo). There is a dash cover present as the dash is cracked underneath, like almost all these are. Seats are in nice condition, no rips, tears, etc.... The driver seatbelt is a little finicky, but you can get the hang of it. Very nice Pioneer DEH-P4700MP CD player with 4 Pioneer speakers. Mosfet 50WX4 Super Tuner III with Mp3 and Remote. Sounds awesome. Unfortunately the tabs where the face snaps in were damaged by me :(. It was working fine, but sometimes the face would not make good contact, I cleaned them up on the head unit side, but bent a couple, so it will need to be repaired or simply straightened back out and it will work fine. The cable pull housings for both gas and trunk have broken, but cable for trunk is still operational and gas release is accessible form trunk and working fine. ELECTRICAL: Everything is working except for clock(works sometimes) and trunk lights. The A/C has been converted to 134 at 111K and works fine, but does have to be recharged each summer. All gauges working properly. The speedometer and odometer have stopped working. I replaced the speedometer transducer, but no luck. The head unit may be faulty, not really sure. It worked up until 2007. Honestly the car has been driven very seldom since 2009. My friend got the car in 2004, then got married in 2009, etc... you know the rest. Now he is selling it. BODY: Very good condition. No rust, no dents, structural damage, etc.... In 1993 there was an incident at the left front which required replacing the left turn signal and left bumper cover. I have the receipt from the shop that did the work. There are a few dings here and there, nothing out of the ordinary. Panel gaps are good. The worst part is the paint. The sides of the car are great, the top section of the cowl and deck lid and panel in front of deck lid need help. Not a big deal, I was quoted by my local guy, who happens to be the best in town...no kidding, around $700 to paint cowl, trunk and panel in front of trunk. If it seems high, it's because he is the only person who can match paint correctly. The top is in good shape, but the stitching wore out that holds the rear plastic window onto the top. The window is in great shape, just needs to be re-sewn and glued back into place. Weatherstripping fair to good. There is some surface rust in the spare tire well, (see photo) nothing structural. Could be wet sanded out easily. WHAT WOULD I DO: This is a great car that is 100% ready to drive and start having fun with. Fix the normal Alfa things as you go and you will not be disappointed. Cosmetically, addressing the top sections of the paint and replacing rear window would get you a perfect looking ride. I can assist with delivery within a couple of hundred(NOT THOUSANDS) of miles for a fee. 500 miles is not a couple for example. OK, here is all the stuff I have to state because of the idiots of the world. IF YOU HAVE ZERO OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING, IF NOT, YOUR BID WILL BE CANCELED, NO EXCEPTIONS. PAYMENT IS DUE 7 DAYS FROM AUCTION END. CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 DAYS OF AUCTION END. A $25 PER DAY STORAGE FEE WILL BE ASSESSED EACH DAY OVER 14 DAYS AFTER AUCTION END. Thanks and good luck!
