Great car, great friend - but must go to make room in garage. Mileage is mainly highway miles from commuting to Philadelphia. Legitimate 22mpg highway! Pac-Man dashboard Warning - this is a daily driver, not a garage queen. All components have been replaced over its lifetime. Transmission, engine and rear end are all original 'numbers matching'. Engine was overhauled by Honest Engines in Paramus, NJ about 70,000 miles ago. Body dings were repaired last summer and paint touched up. Radio (volume control) scratchy, needs to be sent out for rebuild. Shifter is showing signs of wear ( loose) and could use a rebuilding. All Chevy dealers can get the parts. Will deliver anywhere on east coast for expenses and return airfare. This car runs great and I will prove it!! Payment by cash, check or money order only, within 10 days of auction close. How much damage was done in these accidents and has it been fixed properly? I also just read where you said top had crazing, this is expensive item to replace how bad is crazing? You also now list tranny may need rebuild, how bad is it? How loose is shifter does it hang up between gears or is it just sloppy? This is information I need to know as none of this was listed in listing. thank you - slincky67 Dear slincky67, All damage has been properly repaired, not to worry. The 2007 incident was while I was making a right turn on ice into a parking lot and skidded into the left rear door of a Toyota. No damage to the Corvette, and the other car had a small ding in the door. The other driver was the wife of a cop who insisted a report be filed. The 2012 incident was while the Corvette was parked overnight when loaned to a son. Another vehicle (unknown) ran into the r/r quarter panel. That damage was repaired by Artie's Auto Body in Long Branch, NJ. Arties is a top fiberglas shop. Other parking lot dings on the front, left door and rear were also fixed and repainted in 2012. The car was not towed, and was fully driveable. As to the other items, I'm just trying to disclose as much as I can about the car. If you feel there has been a misrepresentation I'll give you your money back. The price you're bidding is a real bargain for this car. I really feel it's worth $7,500. The shifter and/or transmission do not 'lock up', but are getting a little loose and noisy. If I were to keep the car I would have the rebuilds done in about 10,000 miles. As to the top, it is only the interior 'coated' layer that is crazed. The top can be bought in separate pieces from Chevy, and you would replace only the one layer. The exterior layer is fine, and the frame perfect. When the car was new you could only buy the top as a pre-made unit, and it was $2,200.00. This is not the same as today.
