Vehicle Detail

1996 "Laser Red Metallic" Convertible MustangMake an offer. Serious inquiries only please. Features:After-market HD-Radio/CD player with iPod/MP3 USB port and remote control. Satellite Radio Ready.Power SteeringPower WindowsPower Door LocksCruise ControlDual Air Bags History:I am only the 3rd owner and before me it was owned by my father, so it has been in only two families -mine for the last 15 years. The car has been rigorously maintained and has never had any major work to the engine or transmission. Could probably use a tune-up but she still averages 18-19 mpg in city. The odometer stopped at 189K miles a few years ago and last year I popped the worm screw back into place that runs the odometer which fixed it for a month or so.Those factory screws have been known to fall apart after 10 years or more so replacing the gear and worm screw entirely should fix it. You can buy the pair for $50 bucks and replace it in an afternoon of DIY. The condition of the top should be noted. It is the original fabric with no tears or holes. Also the rear glass has aged very well as there is no clouding, yellowing, scratches, or cracks. However, 5 years ago, the passenger side lift cylinder went out and we replaced it. Since then the passenger side doesn't always make a tight seal with the window so best to store it under a cover or in a garage. I've been keeping it under a car port, but you can see from the interior pics, the carpet has some discoloration from past moisture. Had the entire interior detailed and shampooed last month and the mats are still in the trunk (forgot to put them back before I took the picture). Front suspension was replaced 2 years ago along with all 4 tires and it has not been a daily driver in the last year so the tires still have good tread. Has never been in a wreck. Condition:She is an old girl, but solid. The original paint has the usual wear and fading you would expect from a 17 year old car with over 200K miles but no rust. The air conditioning could probably use a recharge. The sun visors have seen better days, but find after market OEM sun visors for the convertible model of the mustang is hard and the Ford brand parts are ridiculously priced or I would have replaced them already. Car comes with the original boot cover for the top (when it is down) and a cover for rain and the elements along with the spare tire and spare-spare I bought once. Also the mats are included. She is great for someone who is partial to the 90's era mustangs, or just likes convertibles and since the only work she needs is largely cosmetic, she would be great for someone looking for a low maintenance project car. She is fun to drive and has been in our family for so long I've put off selling her only for nostalgia. But I've got two small kids and the car seats make it awfully cramped as a daily driver and I don't have the time to give her the attention she deserves. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.
