Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is an 89 Toyota 4Runner with a rebuilt 22RE Motor. This Vehicle has spent most of its life in the south, so it has minimal rust. The small amount of rust it does have is from the last 5 years of it being in Nebraska, which is some surface rust on the door and quarter panels of the driver side. After further inspection today 2-4-13 (after being asked to provide pictures of the rust) I see that some of the rust has gone cancerous. The driver side door and rear quarter panel has some bubbling rust under the paint, and there is a small hole just above the rear of the Nerf bar on the underside of the rear driver side quarter panel. Sorry I did not check the rust closer before listing the truck. See the pictures. The metal strips under the side windows also have some rust forming on them, another common Midwest trait of Toyota. The rust is still very fixable for a body man. The price is still right for this truck despite the small amount of rust as there is over three grand in motor and tires. The passenger side still does not have any rust other than the metal strip under the window. The truck had 165531.6 miles on it when I first fired it after the rebuild, meaning there is only 5749 miles on it since the first fire on 4-27-08. The 35"X12" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's were purchased shortly thereafter, so they have less miles on them then the motor, and there is a full size spare that has never hit the road. When I rebuilt the motor I installed a Hays off road clutch and an off road Torker Cam. There is plenty of off road power in this rig. I also installed a V6 radiator to keep the engine cool on the trail, so the heater does not get very hot in the winter. To fix this issue you would have to just install a radiator for a 4 cylinder. The heater worked fine with the smaller radiator, but the antifreeze does not get hot enough under normal driving conditions to heat the coil. I took out the AC compressor for added power; the lines had holes in them anyway. You are welcome to the compressor if you want it. Now for the bad (Other than the rust): As common with these trucks the rear leaf springs need re-bent as there is some sag on the rear passenger side. This would cost a person around $250.00. The shocks also need replaced. There are cracks in the dash and other common cosmetic blemishes from normal wear and tear in the last 24 years. Other than that this is a sound vehicle and ready for whatever your heart desires. I am only selling this truck because I have a daughter about to turn 16 and I need her to have a reasonable vehicle to drive. I hate to see it go, but I have an 86 4Runner I can build into this after the kids learn how to drive. This is for local pickup only unless you have means to ship. Thanks for looking and good luck!!
