Up for your consideration is an absolutely stunning FJ40 Landcruiser produced in March of 1969. Ground up, frame-off restoration completed in 2012. After spending a majority of its life in Northern California, the truck was taken down to bare metal including the frame and all suspension components. This comprehensive restoration required 2 years to complete and the cost of the restoration exceeds common sense. Faithfully restored to showroom condition in the original colors of Olympus white with a Cygnus White Roof. If you’ve never seen Olympus White in person, it’s an off white, bordering along the lines of a very light beige. Cygnus white is more along the lines of the color you see on appliances, more of a bright white. Together these two colors compliment each other very well as you’ll see in pictures it’s a stunning combination that suites the lines of a Landcruiser very well. The paint is a high quality single stage PPG product. Single stage was used in keeping with the theme of what Toyota originally used when FJ40s were going down the assembly line. The single stage paint carries a great shine and gives it a showroom fresh look.The undercarriage is nicely detailed to OEM Toyota specification. It's a nice semi gloss black. Every detail was paid attention too. Every nut and bolt was touched. After being thoroughly cleaned, original Toyota hardware like screws, washers and nuts were used when possible. If not available a grade 8 in stainless was substituted. Every part is either NOS or restored. I have included a comprehensive list of these items in the description below. You’ll notice some very hard to find parts that were sourced from all over the country to build this truck. It features correct for the year red seat belts, and has no front rubber floor mats or rear cargo mat. The early FJs had painted surfaces only in these areas which I think gives the early trucks a lot of character. It also has the orange fan blade, another detail unique to the early FJs with the "F" engine. These details often get overlooked in many restorations. The odometer was set to 0 miles when the restoration was complete. It’s currently got 160 test miles on it. This FJ has been giving a thorough shake down. All rattles, clutch adjustment, brake adjustment, steering box adjustment, etc. have been worked through making this Landcruiser ready for the road. The alignment was performed by the Toyota dealership and it tracks well on the open road. This Cruiser still retains its original number matching “F” engine with the proper decals on the air cleaner, radiator, and valve cover. The temperature gauge was working well and I noticed after the last time we had it out, it’s no longer working. It’s probably a loose wire somewhere. I haven’t had time to track it down but felt it was worth mentioning. It’s sitting on all factory wheels painted in the proper Toyota Grey, with Brand New BFG all-Terrains 30-9.50-15.
