Vehicle Detail

1983 Buick Regal Limited 100% rust free, 55k actual miles I was told by the previous owner that 55k was the actual mileage. I believe this to be true for many reasons. No fading on the top or dash; brake pedal shows minimal wear. On a 5 digit odometer, when they turn over the numbers are no longer lined up evenly. These numbers line up straight across. The stainless rocker moldings are pristine with no rock pitting or dents which a car with 155k would have. The front bumper has no wear or pitting to indicate high mileage. The car drives like new; very tight and smooth with no rattles, shakes, or shimmies, Elderly owned, completely original other than 1 repaint to the factory color 1 year ago. No chips, dings or dents. The paint is an 8 ½ out of 10. All the stainless, chrome and pot metal is very bright and shines well. The bumpers have no dents, and shine as new with no pitting or clouding. The taillight lenses look new; deep red and free of flaws. The plastic back-up light lenses are very clear with no yellowing. All the aluminum trim around the windows and vinyl top is excellent. The vinyl top is original and looks new with no dry-rot or fading. Grille and headlight trim rings look new. Also the hood ornament is nice. All four wheel-well moldings are excellent with no dings or dents and are very shiny. The optional wire-wheel covers are nice with no curb marks and look new; factory lock included. All glass is factory tinted and in nice condition with no clouding or scratches. Windshield is not pitted or cloudy. Buick was the sponsor of the 1983 Olympics in Los Angeles, and the original decal for the Olympics is in the right quarter window. All weather stripping and roof rail rubbers are very soft and pliable with no dry rot including door rubbers and trunk. The interior is very beautiful; the backseat appears to have never been sat it. The headliner is nice, no cuts, marks, tears or sags. Door panels & carpet also very nice. Perfect dash pad with no fading or cracks; very pliable. The plastic cover on top has two minor cracks, one on each side, where the speaker vents are. All chrome trim inside is very shiny with no pitting or peeling. The plastic wood grain is nice also. There’s slight wear on the driver’s seat by the power seat switch. The velour interior is not worn or faded. There are some minor burn/melted spots on the driver’s seat, very small, they don’t go all the way through, just melted the top of the velour. I think from cigarettes, but there is no residual smell of smoking in the car at all. The instrument cluster looks new; even the plastic chrome is not faded or worn off. All knobs, levers and buttons are tight and work flawlessly. Power windows are smooth up and down; all switches work as they should. Power steering, disc brakes, factory air (functional), rear defogger, power split bench seat (driver’s side only), tilt wheel, after-market AM/FM cassette, power door locks, cruise control, remote driver’s mirror. All features work as they should. Every light works; brakes, turn signals, back up, high and low beams, dash lights, trunk, under hood, license plate, and dome. Strong-running carbureted 3.8 V6. Very smooth with spunky response. No smoke, no leaks, no knocks or rattles. Runs excellent and gets 25 mpg. on highway and 17 in city as per EPA ratings in 1983. Transmission shifts great. Smooth but direct, no leaks, the fluid is clean and it shifts as it should. I believe the rear end is an 8.5 which works well. Gear ratio unknown. The trunk looks new with no stains or worn spots; the original spare and jack are in place. Even the jack instruction decal on the trunk lid is not wrinkled from moisture getting in the trunk. There’s no surface rust on the inside of the trunk lid or trunk pan. The trunk seal is excellent. This car has been pampered; never abused or neglected. It shows total pride of ownership. The underside is rust free; no scaling, just minor surface rust. The gas tank still shows it’s original galvanized look. All body mounts are solid. This car still retains its original bumper fillers. If you’re looking at this Regal, you know that’s a problem with these cars: the plastic bumper fillers would prematurely dry out and crack. These are still soft and pliable which just goes to show the care this Regal has had. No dry-rotting from over-exposure to sun. Recent muffler, shocks, tires and heater core. Tires have 75% tread left and are 205/75/14s. Recent alignment. This Regal wasn’t detailed for the pictures, it’s always been this clean. Clean, clear, title in hand. I’ve described this vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible. No warranty expressed or implied. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is for sale locally.
