Vehicle Detail

1964 Ford Falcon Futura - 260 V8- 4spd NO RESERVE I have been dreaming of building this little Falcon for a while, kept it on the back burner, couldn't decide which way I wanted to go. It is in deed a Factory 260, Bucket Seat/Console, Factory 4spd car, Futura Hardtop, and these cars are hard to find. My plans were to build a mild Gasser street car. It has the look, it has the patina, put some faded out graphics on it, and turn it into a B/FX or A/FX clone. I have been around a lot of high dollar A/FX and S/S cars, and I thought what a great plan to make this one look like it just got pulled out of the barn from years of racing back in the 60's. I wouldn't paint it, it is perfect the way it is, lots of guys pay a lot of money to create the original finish like you see here. I am not sure how the car was used back in the day, it had been sitting a long time, last tagged in 1995. Someone must have been doing something with it, it pretty much looks like you see it today but just cleaned up, it was completely covered in moss and dust ( I am a little warped, but I like it that way to, but fun to clean her off). Interior is completely stripped, what you see in the pictures is all there is, no other parts. To me it didn't matter because I was going to build a street legal drag car anyways. It has been in the Portland, Oregon area for a long time, if you know its history that would be great information. When I first saw it, I was thinking instant vintage drag car project, and everyone else that sees it dreamed the same dream, and everyone that comes over ask about it, but I didn't want to sell. I had a big block FE sitting around that I was going to put in it one day, but I up and sold the engine a month ago, so I just decided, let someone else live their fantasy on this old Future, it is an open canvas. Anyways, this is a no reserve auction, meaning, I am starting the bidding at $19.64, every bid after that is live, so I will sell this Falcon to the high bidder, what ever it brings it brings. The body on this car is original. It is actually very solid. It has the original fenders, doors, and quarters. On the exterior, it is very straight, no major dents, doors, trunk, hood all shut very good, nice and tight. The gaps around the doors and hood are very good. The only rust on the outside of the body (besides surface rust), which you could repair if you wanted or just leave it, is the passenger side quarter panel behind the rear tire, you could patch it, or you could fill it in while you are laying rubber on the pavement eventually. The battery box needs replaced, it is rusty. What is nice about this car is it is solid, no accidents, origianal sheet metal, the frame rails are all in very nice shape, which is important on any unibody car, especially Mustangs and Falcons. The paint is original, and is shot, not to much to explain more about the paint, pretty self explainitory. Most of the trim is missing on the car, I do not have any trim for the car, just what you see. The front and rear windows are in good shape, no cracks. The door glass is missing, the quarter windows are still in the car, and do roll up and down nicely. Overall, this car has tons of patina. If you have some parts cars, this car is not beyond, restoring back to original, factory 4spd cars have a lot of value, and worth restoring, I have owned many in my lifetime. The interior, well it is gone, all there is, is what you see. Has its factory 4spd tunnel, these cars are easy to document, the door tag, is Code 5 for 4spd Transmission. The floors are decent, there is some rust, but mostly around the gas pedal area that you would want to repair. Underneath the floors look great, just a lot of surface rust in the truck area, and floor. I would just clean it up real good, and fix what you find, probably some pin holes, and then put POR15 on them and coat them good, it is strong and tough as nails. It does steer, but it does not have any brakes, master cylinder is not hooked up, and the pedals are missing. It does roll easy on and off a trailer. Overall you get the idea of what the interior is, it has none. Mechanically, IT DOES NOT RUN, IT DOES NOT DRIVE. The engine is a 1964 Ford engine, not sure if it is the original 260, or is a 289, I have never pulled the valve covers off of it. It did have a 4spd attached to it has the pressure plate and flywheel attached, so possibly the original motor, though should be black and not blue, but someone may have painted it at some time. The Intake manifold is a C4AE part number, 4V Ford intake manifold. The engine is freel and turns over by hand easily, someone had it runing at some point back in the 1990's. Overall, mechanically it needs everything rebuilt, but who ever buys it will have there own plans of what they want to build. This is an open canvas, it will be interesting to see what someone builds. The VIN is stamped on the inner apron, and Matches the Door tag as well. It does have a Free and Clear Oregon Title. I have tried to explain the car in details, all its faults and good things, tried to mention everything so you had a good picture in writting as well in pictures. . Please study the pictures, if you have questions please give me a call.
