Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on one 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider. CLEAR TITLE. A/C, 5 Speed, Cromodora wheels. A great running and driving project or super duper parts car as it is complete and in running and driving condition. All jack points good, panel gaps good, no wrecks! Engine has good compression, transmission shifts well, runs out quite strong. Interior is pretty decent with near perfect seats!! Older restoration. Spica fuel injection. Car runs and drives fairly well. Head gasket is leaking some oil on driver side in one place. Interior is pretty nice. Seats are in near perfect condition! There is evidence of filler in lower rockers. Some floor repair has been done previously as well as repair in spare tire well. Car was repainted very well and thoroughly some time ago, but clear has started to peel and some paint is coming off at the edges here and there. Top frame is great and goes up and down well, latches work great, but top vinyl and rear plastic window are totally shot. TONS OF PICS AND DRIVING VIDEO AT BOTTOM OF LISTING. Just click on picture and you will be directed to the photobucket site. ENGINE: Compression is 145-130-130-150 Front to Rear COLD. Head gasket is leaking at one spot on the drivers side, but engine runs well and holds temperature, needs some tweaking to the Spica as it idles a little rough, but runs out well and has plenty of power!! No other leaks noticed. Exhaust is missing the rear most section, so it's kinda loud as cat has been removed also(I still have it). TRANSMISSION: Shifts and drives well. Clutch feels good, no slipping. Typical 2nd gear syncro weakness, but if you know how to shift these, it's not an issue. INTERIOR: Seats are in near perfect condition! Some rust on bottom of passenger seat but does not affect function at all. Foam is tight, leather is nice. Rest of interior pretty decent. Door panels are in fair to decent condition. Passenger side is in better shape as the driver side has some warping towards the bottom. All rubber mats are in driver quality condition. Rear package vinyl mat is nice. There is a hole in the driver side floor mat under where your heel goes. Rear vinyl side trim in good shape and top hold down rubbers are good as well. Dash has a cover, dash showing cracks underneath cover. Shifter boot leather is worn as well as steering wheel wood. Console sides are discolored from the sun. Console top sections are very nice(Ashtray up to gauges). Missing horn button. ELECTRICAL: Temp Gauge, Oil Gauge, Heater Fan, Wipers, Running Lights, Right headlight all working. If you replace the left Headlamp, Brake light bulbs, Turn Signal bulbs they may work. I AM NOT GOOD WITH ELECTRICAL. A/C, Interior Lights, Tachometer(works but is jumpy), Speedometer, Odometer not working. There is no ignition switch present. I have an auxiliary switch hooked up. I have no keys for the doors, glove box or trunk latch lock. You can access all doors, trunk and glove box though. Nothing is locked up. BODY: Older restoration was thorough, but is showing it's age. Top sections are good. Rockers have evidence of filler. Lower fenders have some bubbling. Overall the body is decent, top sections are good. Trunk has a split in the paint right in the middle. Bottom portions of car need some re-working. The paint would actually shine up quite nice if you take the time to wax it, but clear is coming off in places. No big dents or any evidence of wrecks. There is some rust at the top of the rear valance and some spots where the paint has come off in places, mostly around the edges of nose panel and trunk lid. All glass is present. Door glass is good, windshield has some hazing around the edges and a couple of chips that could be repaired easily as they have not turned into cracks yet. Bumpers have some splitting here and there but are driver quality. Weatherstripping is fair. Passenger turn signal lens is broken. Driver headlight bezel is missing although it is shown in pictures. Both outer door handles are broken, I open doors from inside using vent window. CHASSIS: All jack points are solid. Suspension points solid. There is some rust in the floor front sections and there have been previous rust repair done in the front floor sections. Normal surface rust on rest of suspension. Brakes working fine. No rattles or anything weird coming from suspension. Newer front shocks. Tires are Daytona Touring 185/70-14. They are a little old but hold air fine and drive good and have 40% tread left. WHAT WOULD I DO: Well, depends on your resources. You could do a little fixing here and there and have a fun driver, the head gasket leak and top would be the biggest things. If you need parts, this is the ultimate car as it runs and drives and it is 99.5%complete. I would not take off and drive across country in it at the moment because of the head gasket and the Spica could use some tuning. I can assist with delivery within a couple of hundred(NOT THOUSANDS) of miles for a fee. 500 miles is not a couple for example. OK, here is all the stuff I have to state because of the idiots of the world. IF YOU HAVE ZERO OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING, IF NOT, YOUR BID WILL BE CANCELED, NO EXCEPTIONS. PAYMENT IS DUE 7 DAYS FROM AUCTION END. CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 DAYS OF AUCTION END. A $25 PER DAY STORAGE FEE WILL BE ASSESSED EACH DAY OVER 14 DAYS AFTER AUCTION END. Thanks and good luck.
