Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Mustang NO RESERVE Thank you for veiwing my 1966 Ford Mustang, factory V8 car, C code 289, AT. This is a good Mustang for someone who wants a nice little car to drive around and enjoy. My first passion when it comes to cars are these Mustangs, owned 2 when I was 17 years old back in the 80's, couldn't tell you how many I have owned since that time, but they are all special to me, just something about everyone of them. I am offering this car at No Reserve, this is a nice driver that someone will enjoy. Odometer reads 36,128, assume it has rolled over at least once. It has a clean Oregon title, in my possesion. If you have questions give me a call, 503-910-2085, Jason Overall a nice car, the body is very straight, when you look down the sides, it looks great. The paint is in good shape, but underlights, you can see some micro blisters on the paint, mostly on top of the fenders, and doors, a few other spots, pretty minor, out in the sun you really don't notice it, unless you really are looking, they are really tiny. When it is hotter outside they disappear more, and when colder you can notice them a little more. I would imagine a good wet sanding and buffing might help it. But over all it looks great from 5-10 feet away. It is a great looking car, it does have its original quarter panels on it, behind the passenger quarter behind wheel down low it has been patched, you can see the picture of inside the trunk area. The drivers side, a smaller patch just right behind the wheel. Underneath the car is in excellent shape, no rust issues, very solid floors, and the rear frame rails in very good shape, no rust and are straight. The rest of the body is sound on this car. The doors and fenders are in good shape, no rust, no bubbles. The rockers look in good shape underneath. The passenger side right in front of the rear wheel at the bottom, needs a repair the corner is cut out, you can see it when you look down low, you could leave it or fix, most people don't notice it, I show a picture. Under the hood is clean, the drivers and passenger front inner aprons have been replaced at some point with reproductions as far as I can tell, including the battery box. Overall a nice looking car in good condition for a driver. If you are looking for a show paint job this is not it, this was more of a amature restoration, but for the most part they did a pretty good job. The front bumper and rear bumper are in nice shape, no rust issues. There is a small dent on the front of the hood in the gray area someone must have left something on top of the radiator, maybe a cap and shut it and it left an reverse dent see picture. The paint has a few chips that have been touched up, but over in pretty good shape. Hood and front light buckets need to be adjusted a little better, just minor stuff that need attention. All the lights work on the outside of the car, back up lights, brakes, turnsignals all in good shape. The car is a factory 289 C code car, but it has been updated with a 302 and 4V. It has an RV Cam in it, and sounds very nice. Weiland 4V intake manifold, Mustang Finned Aluminum valve covers, Holley 4v carb. It has dual exhaust on it, and sound really nice actually, just like a Mustang should. The engine runs good, has very good oil compression, you can see it while I am driving it. When it starts up it sits around 60psi, and at idle around 40psi after warm up. It has a new waterpump on it, radiatior is in good shape, over all the engine is in great shape, and was told it has round 30K on the engine. Previous to me getting it, it had a new 351W RV Cam in it, so remember to run the 351 Firing order instead of 289-302 firing order. Overall the engine runs great, does not burn oil, very clean, no oil leaks, just installed a new oil pan and gasket as well. The transmission is a Ford C4, it seems to be in good shape, looks clean, and works good, nothing special, no shift kit that I am aware of. It has had new bushings upfront, and drives pretty nice. The wheels are new, they are 17X7, and has new Kuhmo tires on it, with about 5,000 miles on them. They are a little big for the car, has some minor rubbing in the rear, when more then 2 people are in the car when it hits larger bumps but pretty minor. The front fenders lips have been rolled, on each side to let the clear, but I can see there has been some rubbing in the past, so need to be careful when hitting bumps in corners and such. The really look nice on the car for sure. It has drum brakes all the way around, and the car stops nicely. Interior is in decent condition, for a driver. The car was originally had standard interior in it, but has been upgraded with Pony Interior. Has Pony Seats, door panels, kick panels and instrument and glove box woodgrain door. The interior is useable, carpet is older, but in decent shape, as well as headliner, no rips or tears. Also has rubber original style pony floor mats. It has an aftermarket Mustang wooden wheel that looks nice. The seats have some wear, the drivers side, has 2 split seams on seat back corner see picture. The bottom seat cushion needs some more padding were you get in and out, and there is a tear in the side. The passenger side seat is good, but has a small punture on the front bottom corner on top. Rear seat is in good shape, as well as package tray. The instruments all work, but there are no dash lights, and the interior lights are not working, checked the fuse and it looks good, might be the light switch. The radio is missing a knob, and is not working either. Overall the interior need some things, possibly a little freshing up, but over all is clean for what it is. It looks like someone in the past installed another radio, and cut the holes, out, then someone put a new patch panel in to accept the original radio, you can see some of the seams under radio, this needs to be smoothed out and repainted a little better. The glass is all in good shape, the door glass is a little hard to roll up, probably needs good aligning and lubercation in the tracks. Has new window felts, and door rubbers, and trunk rubbers. The dash pad looks original, in pretty good shape, a little wavy next to windshield. I have tried to explain the car in details, all its faults and good things, tried to mention everything so you had a good picture in writting as well in pictures. Overall this is a nice little car that you can drive and enjoy, it is not a show car, just a good weekend cruisein car. If you are looking for a trailer queen, there are plenty around for $20-25K, this is one that you can enjoy and do upgrades as you go.
